This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.

Just last week we posted up the first part of this interview HERE, and now Kidrobot just posted up the second part of a really cool interview with artist and customizer Huck Gee. This second part is 10min long and features a pretty indepth conversation with Huck and Wheelbarrow... as they chat about customs, inspiration and tips for emerging artists breaking into the scene... so carve some time outta yer day and give it a watch... and be on the lookout for part 3 and 3 very soon!
French artist Philippe Barra aka Barratatouille continues to pump out one custom after another and as we previously posted HERE and HERE, you can see his style is really starting to shine. The simplistic nature, and cleanliness of his designs are really nice on the eye, and all the subject matter is alot of fun. Take for instance his latest creation "Chang" who comes fully loaded with a skatedeck, platform, and rail... not to mention a really great looking paint job.

"The MonsterPants Are On!" is a weekly internet radio show hosted by James Felix McKenney. On it, McKenney chats with creative types about their process(es) and influences... and this week the multi-talented Voltaire invites them into his lair for the first of a two-part interview that includes discussions about goth culture, stop-motion animation, performing music at fantasy conventions, his influences from Harryhausen to Star Trek and so much more that it couldn't possibly all be contained in just one episode! It all begins this Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Noon PST at cultradioagogo.com... so don't miss it!
Artist J.Shea is heading down to my neck of the woods - San Diego - for an upcoming show in which he has really been pushing his creative boundaries... and just from the pictures above, I am really looking forward to seeing more! Opening Friday night April 27th at Hellion Gallery, they show titled "A Feeling of Transience" will feature many mobile/style sculptures that hang from the ceiling with kenetic movements. This collection of narratives were created by J.Shea to evoke a momentary feeling by its nature, often temporary, continuously moving, and un-rooted always changing while reacting and transforming and adapting to new environments and situations! This work always floors me, and being able to see it online is one thing... but to actually view it in person... let's just say you don't want to miss out! More pictures and previews will soon follow, but until then, enjoy the rad pictures above.
Hellion Gallery South 433 3rd Ave. Gaslamp Dist. San Diego, CA.
We announced a wee bit back this amazing collaboration between Justin Hillgrove aka Imps & Monsters and Rampage Toys: the 8"-tall Manotaur! These seriously turned out amazing, and I really do dig this figure! By the time this is posted they may be gone, so hurry up and go snag em' up!

So take a few minutes outta yer day and give Toy Break your undivided attention!
Tonight is the "private preview" of Ford's "Go Further" featuring not only their newest cars but original artwork by Luke Chueh & Sket-One! Not only will both artists be in attendance, but they'll also have exclusive prints for sale; Chueh was kind enough to give a sneak peak of his prints:
So how do you go to this wondrous event? Well, if you can get out to San Francisco's Union Square area — 117 Post St. to be precise — tonight (Wednesday, April 11th) from 7-11PM, then just send an e-mail to rsvp [at] gofurthersf [dot] com and you'll receive a non-transferable invitation (though there must be a limitation on them, so don't dawdle).
JFury was commissioned to make a 3" Dunny into a Jawa, the lovably short sand dwellers from Star Wars. The sculpting of that robe is fantastic, with simple two-tone paint to give it a bit of depth. This is technically a work-in-progress piece, as the Jawa's blaster still has to be made, but JFury continues to impress me with his ability to push himself and succeed. While he's still reasonably priced, I strongly suggest you grab a commission from him yourself!
Nature versus man, the age old battle. Can the aspects of the wilderness outgrow and contain the manufactured materials of the human race? Canadian street artist D3N!@L (aka DENIAL) seems to have stated his answer, with has a new series of 33 hand-painted stencil roses on wood being released by 1xRUN tomorrow. Each "Rise" painting, to emphasize the organic feel, was made on a 12" x 24" piece of scrapped, recycled or found wood. And not only do you get a signed & numbered Certificate Of Authenticity but also included are a two-color rose design black t-shirt and a massive DENIAL sticker pack. These paintings go on sale tomorrow at 12 Noon EST for $133.33 each HERE.
Just last week the first stop on the "Weapons Of Mass Change" traveling art show tour opened and, unfortunately, we weren't there. But J★RYU was kind enough to share this picture of his "Hello I Kill You" piece from the exhibit with us. This customized katana & stand looks amazing; not only did he morph the Hello Kitty figure with the kimono and eyepatch, but look carefully at the katana's handle: a tiny inset Hello Kitty head in what appears to be crystals. Such a fun take on the idea! In addition to the Richmond, Virginia based G40 stop, "Weapons Of Mass Change" will also be at: San Diego Comic Con (July 13th, 8PM - 2AM), New York Comic Con (Oct. 12th, 8PM - 2AM) and Art Basel Miami (Dec. 6-9th). The artists and pieces shown will continue to morph and change for each destination.
UK artist Squink! has parted the curtain, allowing us to see his next amazing custom piece. This dunny is not only fantastically painted but look at that great sculpting work. Entitled "The Decline," this 3-incher is a one-off and one-of-a-kind, signed on the reverse and packaged in a ribbon tied gift box. Squink!'s flavor text for this piece is:
Born with a heart bursting with love, a life of constant disappointment and pain has stripped him of all that is good and true within. All feelings dissipated.
And those sad, expressive eyes relay that disappointment to the viewer, in addition to that unnaturally impactful mouth. "The Decline" will be available in Squink!'s online storeHERE for £70 (approx. $110) on Thursday, April 12th at 8PM BST.
We posted about this show earlier this month HERE and up until now, things have not been 100% finial, but Benny from Tenacious Toys just sent word that things are moving along for his show dubbed "The Candy-Coated Custom Show" which is going to be displayed at The London Candy Company. This show is going to be EPIC... The final count for the roster is 36 artists: 6 from the UK and 30 mostly-local US artists. A huge number of those 30 US artists will be in attendance at the opening night show... and that massive list of artists, well... check em' out below!

It opens on April 21st with a reception from 7 to 9PM at The London Candy Company, 1442 Lexington Ave. at 94th St., New York, NY 10128. The show will be available for viewing for two weeks after the opening night.
When we first discussed Kevin Herdeman's Ice Scream Men customs HERE (the two shown in the background above), we said that there was supposed to be a third on the way… and here it is! I love how this one looks like some slime monster, coming forth from his swampy dwelling, golden cone crown adorned with pride. Ryan "Brutherford" Rutherford admitted that he's the proud owner of all three now, so sorry folks… no figure for you. Unless, of course, you contact Herdeman and commission one…
You might recall that a while back we announced a new custom dunny series called "Silly Rabbits" curated by Shawn Wigs, who made each figure resemble the Course Toys's Paw platform before sending them out to other artists to customize. Nerviswr3k has delivered his pieces, which include the above shown "super limited red version." These tightly sculpted, beautifully painted pieces will run you $90 a piece but — due to Wigs needing to make some room — he's throwing in a free Bling Boxed figure with every "Silly Rabbits" purchase made until the end of the month! You can buy the Nerviswr3k one HERE or just check out Wigs's online shop HERE.
Gah! That rug has teeth! "All the better to eat you with, my pretty…" Damn, that's one adorable and disturbing rug; okay, so the 'Monster Skin Rug' isn't exactly a new concept… but Joshua Ben Longo does pull it off with some solid class. The above rug is made of wood, polymer clay and cashmere, which goes towards explaining the $2500 price tag (or $750 for a small one); cashmere is most certainly not a cheap material and that is one sweet lookin' piece. Check out Longo's web shop for a variety of other items, with prices that suit a diversity of budgets; he mostly crafts cute monsters, but who doesn't need one (or two) of those?
