Bwana Spoons is releasing 6 custom Rangeas into the wild... and hot damn do the teasers he sent over that we posted above look amazing! This character is one of my favorite vinyl figures and Bwana tells us that this release is just a tiny taste of what will be available later this year at
Toy Art Gallery when
T9G and he have an EPIC show together. Bwana tells us that the Rangeas' that he is dropping on Friday are teal and clear base colors, with piles of Monster Kolor spray, then hand painted elements, then hit with some moondust and color change... it's going to be a very sought after release, so best of luck to all that try to snag one.

I for one have been wondering what the folks over at
MAQET have been up to... as for a while there they were pumping out figures left and right, and now I know why they have been so quiet as they have been working on a HUGE project! Volkswagen and MAQET have partnered for a contest that puts you in the driver’s seat! Using MAQET‘s character designer at
The Polo Principle website, you can put your own spin on the new VW Polo. VW will select one winner to have his/her design applied to a real Polo automobile... rad right!?!?!
Well not only have people from around the world been taking advantage of this contest, artist from the designer toy scene such as Shin and Nao Tanaka (seen above), and many others! The winner of this contest who takes home the grand prize of the car will then get to drive that Polo for 2 months during the summer. VW’s panel of judges will also select the 40 most creative prototype designs to be 3D-printed and exhibited in Copenhagen this May. After the show, the 40 winning 10-inch custom physical prototypes will be handed back over to their respective creators. Martin Hsu has been doing a fantastic job at keep all of us up to date with the progress on the production of his upcoming 'Dragon Boy' figure, and today he sent over a nice little WIP shot that he got direct from the factory... and as you can see so far, everything is looking great! Martin also mentions that he also has some exclusive colorways in the works... which will be revealed at a later date... exciting for sure! I really does appear that we will see 'Dragon Boy' at this years SDCC... so hopefully they keep to that schedule! More info very soon

Frank Kozik has created a new series of screen printed propaganda-style prints, all with under the banner of "U.S. Needs Us Ready." Each print measures 22.5" x 35" and is a three-color silkscreen, limited to 50 signed copies, for $50 each. The first one — "Eat Fried Chicken" — should be available in May or June, with the rest quickly following (the fourth one — "Awaken Cthulhu" — is anticipated for a July or August release).
