The fellas behind Urban Vinyl Daily are at it again... and by at it, I mean gathering up a whole bunch of artists and hand picking the best of the best to be part of their show "They Came From The Streets" part 2. Now many of you may recall last years show involving many artists who did not 'come from the streets' per say... but it is a catchy name nonetheless and they are doing it all over again! This show will feature custom creations using the 4" and 7" MunnyWorld figures along with many original works of art. The artists included in this event are: Frank Kozik, Scott Tolleson, Gary Ham, DrilOne, Eyeone, 64 Colors, ValleyDweller, Steve Talkowski, Rsin, Lunartik, Viseone, Task One, Luke Cheuh, THARP, Nerviswr3k, Ian Ziobrowski, Abe Lincoln JR., Scribe and Alisa Ross, Squink, ALittleStranger, JFury, Jon Chase, JC Rivera, Maxx242, Chase Tafoya, Chris Brett, Dez Einswell, Terribly Odd, Jason Gallo, and Cache. What a star studded cast!!! These works of art will be invading Cincinnati on June 1st-2nd, 2012... so make sure to keep this show on your radar, it looks like it's going to be pretty fantastic!

FAFI - The Carmine Vault is... VIOLENCE... ROMANCE... DECADENCE!!!
This post makes me so happy. Fafi has always been a huge inspiration and an all time favourite. My crushes on the Fafinettes having adventures on the streets contributed to a love inside of me for all that is street art, in addition to some other talent hailing from that part of the world. Rizzoli..ya know, the cool publisher..They are putting out a book with the lovely Fafi entitled, "The Carmine Vault'! When I saw these narrated little vids, I smiled so BIG. I particularly like Decadence... Oui, Oui! Enjoy! OH and before I forget, get your pre-order on now..it's out April 3rd!!!!!

JC Rivera's custom 7" Smash is one vicious boxing beast!
If all that distinguishable fine line paint style didn't give it away, then let me introduce you to JC Rivera's newest custom: a commissioned 7" Toy2r Smash figure. His ability to make nice clean lines with perfectly blended wash shading is just magnificent. The facial sculpt is easily mistakable for the original platform's production look but it certainly isn't… And those boxing glove fists are likewise perfection. While I'm not sure if Rivera is currently accepting new commissions, but it never hurts to ask… so drop him a line HERE and find out. I don't know about you, but I look forward to the day I can afford to add a Rivera piece to my collection…
Rsin x Dead Hand Toys - Exclusive "Gread" release
This just in... actually we don't really know anything about this except for the picture above, but one can deduce that this is going to be a limited edition series that will drop sometime in the very near future from Dead Hand Toys! I really dig this crossover, as Rsin's muted colors translate over so well to this platform! Oh, and it really goes without saying, but when these officially drop... good luck trying to get one as they will sell out in record time! More info when we get it!

U1 Toy Arts @ WonderCon 2012
U1 Toy Arts had a great booth setup during WonderCon 2012, where not only did they have some old classic on display like Nathan Hamill's "Borris" figure and "Letters From LA" 3D tag from Voxer... but they were also promoting a brand new resin figure dubbed "Bill Luminutty" designed by Overton Loyd who is the creative director for “George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic”!!! This rad looking "Eye of Providence" is super stylized and looks great wearing his best suit and tie... oh and how can you not notice the flaming 'bill' in his hand! These were limited to I believe 100 pieces and are retailing for $50 each... and they even turned him into a smaller magnet, really great to see!
Crewest Gallery owner ManOne was on hand at the event as well, posting up at their booth and releasing a limited edition run of resin 3D tags that were customized... and wow did they look dope in person! All in all their booth had a ton of eye candy, so be sure to click on the pictures above to make them much bigger, and hit up their online store HERE to pick up the leftovers from the con!

Rampage Toys Exhibition at UAMOU Preview!
A while back, we announced the Rampage Toys Exhibition at Studio UAMOU. Well, we lucked into some preview pics of the show so we thought we'd share. As you can see, Jon M. of Rampage made tons of customs for this solo show; my personal favorite being the X-Ray UAMOU figures, which we're told will be available to those of us unable to attend as well!
The "Rampage Toys Exhibition" opens on March 22nd and runs until April 3rd at Studio UAMOU.

Davidkraig's custom 7" Munny of ex-NHL player Trevor Linden!
Davidkraig obviously loves Hockey, as anyone looking at the above custom 7" munny of ex-Vancouver Canucks player Trevor Linden could guess. Tons of quality sculpt work had to be done to make this look proper, most noticeably in those legs and Linden's face. Is it flawless? No. Should it be? That's for each person to decide, but I think the rawness of the sculpt captures the motion and attitude of the NHL perfectly.

Task One's TYO Toys custom truck is damaged & lost…
A couple of years back, Task One was approached about being in a TYO Toys Truck custom show; and while the show never materialized, Task One's custom most certainly did. As you can see above, he did tag one side of the truck — which is rather standard fair for this DIYs — but then he tore it apart in a manner similar to what Fark FK does with graffiti cans… what appears to be a sculpted tag is protruding from the interior of the truck, causing gaping holes where the sharp arrows poke through. While that alone could be considered cool enough, check out some of the small details Task One added: the wood paneling on the tracks floor, the tiny mudflaps complete with lounging gal diecuts, even the small "Wash Me" written in the grime on the back doors (in the lower right for those having trouble spotting this). We're even told that the brake lights in the rear light up!
Want to add this amazing piece to your collection? Someone already did… and for free. Task One was carrying it around in a box, set it down, and forgot to pick it back up again. He doesn't hold any ill-will to whoever ended up finding it; in fact, he even states that he "hopes someone enjoys [it]!"

Miss Zukie's adorable creation heads towards a DIY vinyl production run!
Alison Perez aka Miss Zukie has been a busy, busy girl… For the last year, she has been quietly slaving over her popular Zukie creation in order to craft a perfect 4"-tall DIY figure for customizers to play with. Tentatively set to release in May, these cuties will be cast in vinyl… yes, vinyl! I'm assuming it's a rotocast, but that's unclear at this point; what is certain is that this little bundle of joy will even be articulated, able to swivel that sweet head a full 360º, Exorcist style. And the price will be very reasonable, at only $9.95 per figure… they will be able to be shipped worldwide, but no news if she's going to try to get some distribution to stores going on these wee wonders.
To keep up-to-date on this release, we strongly encourage people to follow Miss Zukie's Twitter and/or to join her Facebook fan community.

Hoakser's Gundam Graff Bombers are graffiti mechs for the anime crowd.
Ah, the ancient art of model kit building… If you're past a certain age, then you probably have fond memories of sitting at some work table with tons of little parts, an impossibly hard to squeeze tube of glue, and a series of paints — at the ready — for when all else was done. And the true challenge of a model hobbyist were kits like the Gundam ones, over 100 pieces crammed into a 7.5" tall frame. Well, Hoakser did the work, built those crazy kits, and then tore them apart…
After making his nice pristine Gundam models, Hoakser stressed the plastic and repainted the whole thing to look like a rusted old robot… but not before he exchanged the heads for his traditional spray paint caps. The end result being three unique one-offs he calls "Gundam Graff Bombers" (shown above); I must say, they look solid all around and the debris laden diorama bases are just perfect.
All three are currently available (separately) in Hoakser's eBay shop, with the big guy (above center) costing £79.99 (approx. $125US) and the two smaller ones being £59.99 (approx. $95US) each.

Josh Mayhem's "Mickey Malice" custom for the Play Imaginative x Disney Mickey Mouse show!
Josh Mayhem's contribution to the Play Imaginative x Disney custom Mickey Mouse group show, entitled "Mickey Malice," continues the artists's style of mixing simple designs with an over-the-top abundance of weapons accessories. The paint job does appear a bit more sloppy, the lines not having the ultra-crisp edges he's evolved towards, but is overall quite solid. And his manufacturing of repurposed parts into armament remains top-notch, this piece including a working, reloadable rocket launcher (!).
Part of Mayhem's "The Askew Rangers" line, wherein he takes designer toys and tries to imbue them with the fun, versatile nature of action figures, this Mickey would've conquered Kingdom Hearts in no time flat. While it would be nice to see Mayhem push himself a bit more by trying different elements, I guess this all harkens back to an old adage: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Charles Rodriguez, Gabriel Carpio & BurunDanga Design return to Freak Store's "I Love Dunny" series!
Just last year, Freak Store in Venezuela released "I Love Dunny 1.0" — a collection of 19 unique 3" dunny customs, all blind boxed. And there were some fairly outstanding pieces present, including the three shown above… only those exact copies aren't from the original set! To meet with the demand people expressed over some of the designs, Freak Store have arranged with the artists for three of the customs to be done as limited runs of 15 copies each. From left to right (pictured both above and below): Charles Rodriguez's "Rock Hand," Gabriel Carpio's "Kabuki," and BurunDanga Design's "Eso."
Rodriguez's amazing "Rock Hand" sculpted dunny is almost a perfect duplication of the original, with the stone washed look of the jeans and a lack of a belt buckle being the only differences I can spot. Carpio's "Kabuki" is a brand new interpretation of the original — it actually looks like a cleaner paint job with a varied facial design; and the beaded necklace is now multi-colored! BurunDanga's "Eso" is probably the closest to the original, the design being maybe a little crisper and the colors a tad darker. Overall, three amazing additions to any custom collection.
All three are available right now for $80 each and tou can buy them in the Freak Store's online shop.

New Banksy piece is an origami crane hunting for fish in a river…
The above image is doing the rounds, being touted as the new Banksy piece. While we don't pretend to have the street cred necessary to much such proclamations, we will say that it is one fantastic looking piece of street art. I love the non-traditional (but more realistic) take on the origami crane, the shadowed fold area spray work, and that fish the crane just caught looks absolutely stunning. And the way the crane's reflection looks in the water is — obviously — the best part.
