MyRoyalEgo x Welkid - "Pandeer" resin figure
When you go and create a figure, it's important for it to stand apart from all the rest of the stuff out there... that being said, the "PANDEER" designed by Welkid and produced by MyRoyalEgo does just that! Limited to just 20 pieces, this hybrid panda/deer stands 9" tall and is created out of 100% resin! Something about this figure really does it for me... in all honesty it's kinda creepy, how gangly the limbs are on this humanoid figure, it's very alien like indeed, but it is really unique and super well designed! The figurine comes packed in a custom foam lined box and is priced at $160 - which included shipping - so if you are interested in snaggin this up, drop MyRoyalEgo an email via contact@myroyalego.com enquiries.
Wet-Suit Maria is GLOWING!
"Wet-Suit Maria" is back and she is in GLOWING vinyl form! Erick Scarecrow and DKE Toys has pulled out all of the stops on this one and let me say I am impressed! This figure is Limited Edition of 50, and stands at 6" tall. "Wet-Suit Maria" Glow in the Dark Edition will be sold in a window boxed blister tray and will definitely sell out FAST. One thing that I like about all of the editions of this figure is that she appears to defy gravity by just standing on one leg, but balances perfectly. "Wet-Suit Maria" Glow in the Dark Edition will have a suggested retail price of $45 and can be purchased by just shooting DKE Toys an email HERE or ask your local store to order one for you!

Toy Art Gallery is proud to present: “Paulyvinyl State of Mind” a solo show from Paul Kaiju
If you have not seen how crazy the kaiju crowd can get when it comes to toys... prepare yourself for the onslaught of crazy kaiju kids as Toy Art Gallery is proud to present “Paulyvinyl State of Mind” by the legendary Paul Kaiju! Paul’s work needs no introduction; as a top-notch painter, sculptor, and toy designer he has taken the toy world by storm with his extremely original designs that are influenced by everything from Japanese Kaiju to 60’s Sci-Fi to cheap squeaky toys. Be it Japanese soft vinyl or hand-casted resin, Paul’s creations are truly unique and exquisitely crafted. He now brings this expertise to his first solo show at Toy Art Gallery with a multitude of his various characters in one-offs and editions in vinyl and resin, along with some BIG surprises!
Speaking of BIG surprises... we did some scouring of the interwebs and found some pretty interesting pictures, and from the looks of it TAG produced Paul's rad "Boss Carrion" figure in a much larger form... just look at that crate and the teaser with the smaller boss standing on the head of that massive black beast!!! This is not confirmed, so it's only speculation at this point, but knowing TAG's track record... this would not be too shocking! “PAULYVINYL” is a limited engagement and opens Saturday, March 3rd and runs through March 18th. There will be an opening reception from 7pm-11pm March 3rd... oh and if you plan on making purchases, Paul's work is in such high demand, TAG will start handing out tickets starting at 12 NOON on Saturday March 3rd just to get the chance to buy an item... crazy limited! So if you want something, get there early!

"Blast Off Bunny" custom by Mikie Graham
We have been posting up teasers of Mikie Graham's aka Zombiemonkie from the Blamo Toys collective Bellicose Bunny custom over the past few weeks, and today we are getting the full reveal of Mikie's cool "Blast Off Bunny." If you compare his piece to the original you will see that he has taken the bunny off of his rocket and twisted the intention of the figure. By strapping him to the side of a missile ready to blast off, I have turned the once powerful space bunny into a helpless cartoon animal stuck to the side of his ultimate demise. "Blast Off Bunny" features many hand sculpted details that help transform the figure including the ornate flame plume that attaches the figure to a distressed antique wooden base allowing the bunny to seemingly float in mid take off! The 'Bellicose Bunny Custom Show' is shaping up to be a top notch toy event so if you're in or around LA on the 23rd of March, make sure to head down to the Toy Art Gallery's new location at 7571 Melrose Ave. for the show's opening!

Super7 x LeMerde - "Double Trouble" Zagarad
It looks like Super7's swirl vinyl is the new "it"... as they have been pumping out figures left and right with this cool effect, and I'm not mad at them :-) This style is extremely cool and almost lends itself to me not wanting any paint on the figures! That being said, dropping this Thursday, March 1st at 12pm PST HERE is a mix of Gargamel and Le Merde along with Black and Glow vinyl in the "Double Trouble Swirl" Zagarad which is a blend of cast Marbled Glow and Black vinyl with Green and Blue sprays. Don't miss out on this release, and seeing as they are just $35 each... you should probably grab a few!

Michael Lau's "I Love Zex" 6-inch vinyl figure is coming!
Back in 2009, Michael Lau released a 12" tall figure named Zex, which was obviously inspired in appearance by photographer Terry Richardson. Part of Lau's 6" tall Gardener series, I Love Zex re-releases the figure in a slightly re-imagined form. A little more blocky cut, this stylized version comes with an actual necklace on the figure and — well — very little else. Please note: While not actual nudity, those that don't want to see a naked man vinyl figure should not click through to look at the next picture of this figure…
The figure will go on sale on March 1st and only be available until March 11th. It will cost $699HK (approx. $90US) and will be exclusively at CrazySmiles. Images & information courtesy of Dudebox blog and Think Contra blog.

Sick Custom S.L.A.B. by Phu
Artist Phu sent up these awesome pics of his most recent custom, called S.L.A.B. or Stings Like A Bee. This piece was done for the Transformers Cybertron Con and is Bumblebee's hover cruiser unit. Complete with the titular pilot and plenty of details, Phu brings us another awesome custom in the style he does so well. This piece is made from all kinds of crazy stuff like cardboard, rubber hoses, cable ties, steel eyelets, found objects and two clear acrylic spheres. Pretty amazing! Check out Phu's blog for more pics.

JFury's custom Mickey Mouse for Play Imaginative's showcase.
JFury continues his reign as king of the clowns… er, make that clown-based customs. Above is his piece for the ongoing Mickey Mouse custom showcase that Play Imaginative is doing… and it is a might fine addition to the talent they already have. The sculpt of the crazy clown hair is spot on, to the point one could mistake it as part of the original platform, and I adore that JFury made his trademark balloon ears 3D as opposed to simply painting them on. His line work, per usual, is solid and fairly flawless, but I must say that something about the blue wash shading on the skin seems off… I think it is the distinct lack of consistency for a singular light source; he's rather created dark spots that seem in-line with having a light source on either side of the figure. But, otherwise, this is top notch!

Dalek's Space Monkey is back… as prints!
If you're a fan of the whole street art & graffiti scene, then Dalek's Space Monkey is as iconic a modern image as Banksy's Rat, Shepherd Fairey's Giant face, Invaders's tile design, or Flying Fortress's Teddy Trooper. And to see the Space Monkey resurface, even as limited edition prints, makes a shiver run up my spine. These two 18"x24" prints — sold separately — are each 8 color silkscreens on Coventry Rag paper, limited to a mere 90 signed & numbered copies. Carrying the massively reasonable price tag of $60, you'd be a fool not to order at least one for your wall. And while they don't ship until mid-March, you can pre-order them now in Dalek's web shop.

Ashley Wood's 3A x Metal Gear Solid's Rex images!
Several days ago we reported on the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid 1/48 scale Rex figure from Ashley Wood's 3A. Alas, images and information were a bit lacking… but we can now fix that with some killer pics! Here's loads of angles from — what I'm guessing is — the unpainted prototype:
I love the soft blue glow of the spotlights and the cockpit interior, which was a previously unknown aspect. But the real question remains: How big is this monster? We were guessing around 2-feet-tall.
Well, the above photo corroborates that it is goliath, but doesn't really convey a true feel of the size. Oh, here's one that does… Hmm, two-feet-tall might've been a bit too conservative a guess… Wow!
The Metal Gear Solid: Rex figure will go on-sale in the Bambaland webstore on March 2nd at 9AM PST for $490.

Luke Chueh x Fully Visual's "Jack" is an extremely limited bronze cast cryptid!
Luke Chueh has teamed up with Fully Visual to create an extremely limited bronze cast based on his "Jacked" painting. The piece is of a cryptid Jackalope that has been taxidermied and wall-mounted, with such wonderful little touches as the tongue sticking out, the name plaque of "Jack," and the antlers seemingly affixed by a headband.
Above are some photos of the wax "positives" made for the piece… each bronze cast requiring it's own wax counterpart. The process is seriously time consuming, but these photos show that Fully Visual are up to the task; proving themselves to be the master craftsmen we've come to expect from their previous releases. The finished product will be limited to only seven (7) pieces, set to be released on March 7th (coincidentally, that's Mr. Chueh's birthday as well). No word yet on price, but we imagine it will be several hundred bones (at least).
(Images & information courtesy of Luke Chueh's blog.)

Mone's Iron Munny is 4-inches of slick alcoholic Avenger!
Mone's "Iron Munny" is a solidly made custom and with some surely difficult sculpting to create the three-dimensional Iron Man armor suit. The paint job looks overall crisp and clean, a nice consistent two color design… but it does look like the gold bled into the red a bit in areas, which is unfortunate, unless that's just an illusion created by the black highlighting (which I think it might be). And it's a little hard to tell but it looks like the sculpey or paint cracked around the lips, or that could just be the reflection of something in the paint gloss; considering how meticulously put together everything else is, I'll assume it isn't a defect. We're informed this piece is currently available for sale, though we don't know the price; interested parties should contact Mone via his web shop or Facebook page.

THARP's Tharpedoes are here! Or, at least, Series 1 is!
After being busy with the day-to-day grind of things, THARP takes a break to unwind… with his paints. He's created a new thing with his "Tharpedoes" (pictured above); I hate using the word thing as it lacks any descriptive power, but Tharpedoes are simply "small smile bombs" made by THARP. This first series is limited to 6 pieces, each one being a 2" wooden ball affixed to a 2" wooden block, all hand-painted/doodled upon — the doodle wrapping around the entire block and each ball painted with a face on the front & another on the back. I love the slick line work and simple premise, but these little balls of happiness will set you back only $45 each… though they are wonderfully named after the main color of the piece: BLK, BLU, PINK, ORA, GREN, and PURP. If these 'Happy Fun Balls' move you, then shoot on over to THARP's web store and grab one… because Tharpedoes Series 2 might have a completely different design concept to it! Just warnin'!
