Smash Tokyo Toys... new vinyl project?!?!?!
It's been some time since we have heard from Smash Tokyo Toys, but it appears that they are working hard with artist TURBOPISTOLA (Daniel Smith) getting turnarounds ready for their huge new mini Japanese vinyl line they are getting ready to do with Velocitron later on this year. For more of the sketches of their ideas go HERE, and according to STT, that's a secret head that is pixelled out... Oh, and do you recognize the hand on the arm... that's because the drill hand is "Seismic Aces" head... AWESOME!!! No other details will be released until the series has been finalized, but it sounds really cool!

Jay222's custom Eyezon is an eyeful & a scream!
Customizer Jay222 is killing this Eyezon; and I mean that in the best possible way. The paint job is clean and professional, but what really makes it are the legs. Yea, those are not the legs an Eyezon comes with… at all. So that means Jay222 hand-sculpted those bad boys in a seriously pro way. If I didn't know better, that's 100% what I'd think the figure was supposed to look like. And is it just me or is that a Ghostbusters logo on his belt buckle?
No clue what this is for or anything, but I thought it was too amazing not to share. If you're interested — and this piece is still available — try contacting the artist through his website, his Twitter feed, or directly at jay222toy [at] gmail [dot] com. Even if the piece is spoken for, you might be able to work out a deal for him to make you some sweet horrors of your own.

MAD's 4-foot-tall custom Dunny for Foxwoods Casino!
Tonight and tomorrow night MAD will be doing a live painting event at Foxwoods Casino. Since he'll only be working on the piece for 2 hours each evening, he pre-applied a base coat to the 4-foot-tall dunny that he'll be working on. Shown above, you can see MAD's typical smooth lines and graphic pow all over the place. Plus, a silver back? Interesting! And check out the finished product at the top... amazing!
"Live Painting with MAD" will be on February 24th & 25th from 6-8PM each night at Foxwoods Resort Casino, 350 Trolley Line Blvd., Mashantucket, CT 06338. foxwoods.com

Lunabee's "Jammy" custom of Super7's Foster is delicious.
The cannibalistic Foster figure from Super7 has always been one sweet customer, but Lunabee figured out a way to make him even more deliciously amazing… fill him with strawberry jam. "Jammy" was a piece Lunabee did for her friend Dan and, without a doubt, he is one lucky guy. The smooth shading of the cookie folds is to die for and his strawberry face is too adorable for words. I usually love Lunabee's work, but this one just takes her normally cute style to whole new level.
And while this brilliant piece might already be spoken for, Lunabee is typically (time allowing) to be commissioned for custom work. Contact her at lunabee [at] miskellaneous [dot] co [dot] uk to make inquiries.

Gary Baseman's Polaroid beauties from "Instant Revolution" show!
Several weeks back we announced the "Instant Revolution" group Polaroid photography show and Gary Baseman's involvement. Above you can now see a set of four of Baseman's pieces from the show in all their instant camera glory. As we had noted, Baseman treated the pieces like mixed media masterworks, using the Polaroid as a canvas upon which he hand-detailed everything in his unforgettable art style.
"Instant Revolution" opened on February 9th and runs through March 23rd at The Impossible Project Space NYC, 425 Broadway, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10013. More information can be found at: http://www.the-impossible-project.com/projects/exhibitions/

Rsin's WIP piece for Nathan Hamill's Bellicose Bunny group custom show!
Yesterday we posted a WIP pic of Mikie Graham's piece for the "Bellicosity" group custom show, so today we bring you Rsin's WIP for the same. Not only did Rsin take Nathan Hamill's Bellicose Bunny and truly make it his own, but — as always — his cleanness and creativity floor me. And the bunny has a helmet! What's better than that, I ask you?
"Bellicosity: The Bellicose Bunny Group Custom Show" will open on March 23rd and run through April 6th at the Toy Art Gallery (TAG), 7571 Melrose Ave. (corner of Melrose & Curson) Los Angeles, CA, 90046. toyartgallery.com

Continuing with the onslaught of reveals for Shawn Wigs HUGE new series of a 110 Custom 3" Dunnys & 1 custom 8" Dunny titled "Silly Rabbits"... we are actually getting a look today at the custsom done up by Shawn himself as he is one of the 7 amazing artists involved. As you can see from the above picture Shawn not only did up a set of the 3" Dunny/Paw hybrids, but he created a massive 8" version in the same style... I would describe it as a dirty eggshell neanderthal :-) The series will be Blind-Boxed and sold HERE for $90 each, and it's set to drop on Thursday, March 1st at 12pm EST! Be on the lookout for the next teaser very soon!

Work Of Art winner Kymia Nawabi doing designer toys with Sucklord?!?
What the…?!? Yes, that's Bravo's Work of Art winner Kymia Nawabi hard at work in Sucklord's Suckadelic Studio. How do we know that she's hard at work and not just fooling around? Because when Sam Parducho, jewelry maker extraordinaire & Sucklord's girlfriend, posted the above picture, she wrote "Hard at work" as the tagline; doesn't get any more clear than that. But it might not be so strange, as you may recall Nawabi's sweet custom for the "Futuretro" group show:
But wait, on Nawabi's Twitter feed she says: "Working with Sucklord tomorrow to get Thoth made and maybe a surprise character for sale as well!" She'd mentioned the Thoth figure before as a limited edition item, but what it is? We'll let you know as we find out more.

Splurrt x Rampage = Uglier Unicorn… Kaiju for the diseased soul.
Splurrt went nuts and customized a bunch of Rampage Toys "Ugly Unicorn" figures. In fact, it was like he was responding to a challenge… "Man, those are some ugly unicorns," someone said. "They could be uglier," Splurrt replied. "Yea, sure the could," that disbelieving someone stated. Proved wrong. These are "Uglier Unicorns," with additional sculpt work done and some sweet retro-Kaiju sprays. No word on price, but it appears there are only going to be 9 of these ugly bastards available… so race over to Splurrt's web shop at 1PM EST on Sunday, February 26th to try and grab one!

Ashley Wood's 3A x Metal Gear Solid… First figure revealed!
It's been teased for a while now that Ashley Wood's 3A would be doing some Metal Gear Solid figures. Known for their hyper-detailing and robotic entities, 3A seemed the natural choice to take on such a labor as bring the fan-favorite video game to pain-staking life. And now, the first piece in the line has been officially announced: MGS Rex is a 1/48th scale — which still puts it at somewhere around 2-feet-tall — rendition of the mech and… oh, let's just take a peek at it:
Details are still scant, but the figure will go on-sale in the Bambaland webstore on March 2nd at 9AM PST for $490. More details surely to follow.

NoseGo's "Acute" T-Shirt is forthcoming… and it is cute.
NoseGo has a new T-Shirt up for pre-order, the "Acute" design. And it certainly is cute, done in that slick stylized cartoon fashion of his… But I've gotta admit, it doesn't match the awesomeness I feel for "Circle Bear." Bare in mind, though, that I'm a design minimalist, so…

Hoakser's "Derelict Rooz" was abandoned… and defiled!
Perhaps you recall us reviewing Hoakser's "Abandoned Mini-Munny" not that long ago, well… Hoakser is back and this time it is a poor Rooz that appears to have been brought to a poorly patrolled neighborhood, abandoned for a couple of hours, and — during that time — was tag-bombed to all hell. Entitled the "Derelict Rooz," this continues Hoakser's mixing of graffiti art and customizing art, making a sculptural statement about the nature of art. Plus, you know, it comes with a mini canvas on easel… it doesn't get much more arty than that!
As before, Hoakser has placed the finished piece on eBay with a 99p starting price. Go forth and bid, custom collectors… go forth and bid HERE.

Phlegm's "Civilisation" screenprint is massive, maddening & a must own!
Remember a while back we showed you this absolutely gorgeous print by Phlegm? "Civilisation" ended up being a two-color masterpiece silk-screened on 280gsm Rives tan paper. What's 280gsm, you ask? It's a British paper weight measurement and it is equivalent to a little heavier weight than an index card playing card… Yup, this piece is going to have some weight to it! And some length; the width is roughly 14.5" and the length is… just shy of 44" long — or just shy of 4 feet long, if you prefer!
There are only going to be 107 copies of the print made available, with a limit of one per person. They'll cost £100 (approx. $160US) and go on-sale Monday, February 27th at an undisclosed time. The direct link to the sale page is HERE.
