D.O.G. resin figure by HXstudio
Designer resin from Barcelona... and why not?!?! Artist Jesper aka (HX) of HXstudio has been creating his own resin figure for quite some time now and has just sent word that soon he will release his second resin toy... his name is D.O.G., and as you can see from the photos above, this futuristic mutt will be finding his way into your home, and your heart, very soon! The figure itself is 100% handmade and measure 2.3" long by 1.8" tall... and it really reminds me of those playground spring loaded sit-on figures! According to Jesper, this series consists of - 10 DIY versions, 5 customs, 6 special finishes, and 3 clear versions... oh, and if you want to see how these are made, Jesper does a great job documenting it through pictures HERE! These are set to go on sale pretty soon via his online store HERE, so be on the lookout for the drop!

"Shy" the Yeti from Bling Squared
Do you all remember the folks over at Bling Squared and how they created Camilla d'Errico's "Kuro" figure into tiny glass charms... well they are back and have recently announced their first new design for 2012 - "Shy" the Yeti! Described to be "a little self conscious about his horns, so he mostly stays inside his ice-cave and plays Wii. But if you can tempt him with hot chocolate and a starry night, he's a great sledding partner", he's one of the more elaborate designs to come out of the studio. Shy is currently available through Bling Squared's website HERE in it's charm form for just $35, and will be available as a free standing glass sculpture (approx. 1.5" high) at their Artist's Alley table at Wondercon and the Emerald City Comic Con in March. There's even rumored to be a special Valentine's version coming out at the end of January.

"Crystal Mecha" & "Fossilzilla" teased by Super7
Super7 just unveiled their second teaser for 2012... and from the very recognizable silhouettes above those two figures have got to be Brian Flynn's robotic "Crystal Mecha" and Josh Herbolsheimer's "Fossilzilla"... ... which by the way were on display in prototype form during SDCC 2011! Click HERE to see the sculpts of em, and these two new figures looked amazing in person, and I am actually really looking forward to seeing some test pulls of these figures as they promise to be pretty epic! Brian's "Crystal Mecha" is due to drop this fall, and there is no word on the "Fossilzilla" release but it will be dope once it hits!

Uglydoll BLOX from Funko
It looks like the folks at Funko caught the bug just like everyone else... what bug am I talking about... well, the Uglydoll bug as David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim’s cute little creations make the leap onto Funko's new BLOX vinyl platform... and how fitting it is! I am really digging the blocky interpretation of these figures, and they really do transfer over well to this new platform. There will be 6 versions available at first, all of which measure 7" tall and 2" wide, and include characters such as: Ox, IceBat, Big Toe, Ugly Charlie, Ninja Batty Shogun, and Wage... but who knows if there will be more released in the near future! Look for these in retail locations where Funko products are carried.

"Fearless Ed" by Fshizz
Alex aka Fshizz just sent over some really cool shots of a custom built, one-off piece that he is calling "Fearless Ed"... and how cool does this look! We have all seen road kill, and obviously it struck a cord for Alex as he created this piece for Fixed Gear magazine. I really dig the complete look and feel of this, as there is a whole scene depicted, and Alex really hit a home run with this very cartoony figure! More pictures via his site HERE.

3AA 2012 hits this week
Well with the new comes the beginning of the new membership season with 3A. Ashley Woods announced the final pricing for this years membership kit last night through the 3A Vox newsletter, it comes as no surprise that while the price has increased this year for the membership (Ashley mentioned before that this was due to increased pricing from shipping and other factors) that the folks at ThreeA have still found a way to make this years package even better. Some great items of note for the 2012 Membership:
Membership consists of a 3A ballcap, a messenger bag, the membership card and a great 1:6 figure as well as the 15% discount for all purchases at "Bambaland and or conventions. 3AA is priced at $180, 3AA membership will go on sale Jan 12 at 5PM PST at bambaland.
Now more about that 1:6 figure that is part of this pack, the F-Legion figure looks to be one of the great figures this year, as a cyborg he has bot hands and arms similar to the style seen with the latest ankou retail figure and 10 figure gang. But there are many other great details as well, the parka styled jacket looks like there is a hoodie, not sure if this will be separate or if this will be more in the style of Bleak Mission, where the hoodie portion was sewn into the jacket. The looser worn jeans look great as well, giving a more designer feel to the figure. There is also a great melee weapon in the form of a bat that conveniently connects to the rear of the jacket for safe keeping. And lastly it looks like ThreeA has developed a new shoe style more in the form of low top vans. This should really be great as it will allow for more poseability. Word from Ashley is this set should be finished and ready to ship out in late April for those that are going to order this week so this should make for a great new year with 3A.

"Grindroid" custom Dunny/Android by Ian Ziobrowski
Ian Ziobrowski just cranked out his first commission for 2012, and I gotta say... it turned out awesome! Titled "Grindroid" it's a custom Google Android figure and a 3" Dunny combined together to make one of the most unique pieces of machinery NUGGS have ever owned. What "Grindroid" does is chomp, than mulches, to produce some of the finest butters in town. This robot is responsible for some of the best, most desirable snacks in NUGGLIFE... and by far one of the most creative uses for an Andriod figure thus far!
