SWL, the questions was asked "What makes your works stand-out or different from other sculptor?" and Simon answered "I often choose to deal with issues that are fairly serious, but the characters that I use as vehicles for exploring the issue are often not very serious at all. This strange juxtaposition often opens a door, allowing the audience a chance to get close to the issue without the ‘heaviness’ that can make social themed art off-putting." That being said, you can see the seriousness in the situations offset by the cartoony nature of his creations... a great balance if you ask me! Do yourself a favor and visit his site HERE as well as his online store HERE where you can pick up some one of a kind, super unique sculptures, for some really great prices!
it must be all 12 of either "Renold" or "Rourke" to qualify. Each Robotone Sprog is hand-made, hand-cast, hand-poured, solid colored resin, and comes with a numbered header card and bag. Release order will not be chromalogical, but chosen to reflect the month. Oh, and since these are all hand-made and limited, you probably should sign up for Cris' newsletter to get a much needed 24 hour jump on the rest of the global population :-)
A few weeks back we posted HERE a great little video interview with Clay ‘FERG’ Ferguson as he discussed his prep for 'Trigger', and now the Circus Posterus film crew returns with a profile on the other side of the 'Trigger' coin as they talk with Brandt Peters! In anticipation of the show’s opening TONIGHT at Stranger Factory, this video shows off Brandt working on pieces for this show as well as share stories of his childhood and where he draws his inspiration from... a really cool peek into his life! Watch, enjoy!
