UMETOYS is at it again, and by at it I mean sculpting up a storm and above is a great picture of a new figure he is calling "Martin Longbottom"! He stands 4.5" and will come with the hat seen in the photo above... oh, and he will also have a pair of geek glasses too :-) The prototype is nearly finished, then it's onto making the mold and producing this in resin. I personally am really happy to see this because Richard does amazing work and it should be available to more than just one off pieces... get ready for

I ♥ Munny" custom toy show is going to feature custom Munnyworld, 7" Munny, and Mega Munny DIY Designer Vinyl Toys by artists from all over. The show is set to launch on February 10th at The Rusted Nail Gallery in Mesa, AZ... and if you can't already tell by the flyer, Valentine's Day is approaching and the theme for this show is obvious, but open to interpretation. The guys behind
Bad Applez Inc. are hosting their first group art show... and it's going to be 100% online! Going live on February 14, 2012 (Valentine's Day), the show titled "I'm a Bad Apple" will feature over 30 artists customizing 3"-5" plastic apples that were picked up at a local craft shop! Each artist will have free reign over how they customize each apple and with such a robust line-up... it's going to be awesome! Carson Catlin just finished up a trio of fantastic looking customs, and damn do I dig this style! First us is part of his continued "Cuts Threaded" series of figures, and this is a 4" Orange Munny who is threaded through out... a time consuming process indeed! Up next is that Labbit who features his "Removed" style... and one thing to note... the light color on the inside and the dark color on the outside... really great. Lastly is that burning gradient custom commission MAD*L he did for a friend that incorporates a logo in the custom... can you see it? I am really fond of Carson's work... and for all you SS.com readers, we may just have one to giveaway *

Kenny Wong long time 1:6 artist and all around awesome toy designer just posted up what could very well be the toy of 2012. For those that may not recall many have been long awaiting the arrival of his 1:6 collaboration with
ThreeA,
Sea Monkey. The 1:6 version of this Leviathan stands 22 in tall, now for some this might be daunting to display and it looks as though Kenny and the
ThreeA folks came up with a great solution put this puppy out in 1:12. No word just yet when this might happen or what will come of the 1:6 version (though we really want both to come out)nor about Snow Pea the 1:6 figure that Ashley Wood was designing to pilot the underwater vessel but our year has already gotten considerably brighter. This has been something we've long hoped for might happen to this great toy, after seeing the range of motion on the 1:12 APTk figures from ThreeA we had hoped that Sea Monkey might make it into this new scale.
Kenny's Sea Monkey in 1:12 should stand 11 in. More info as we get it in so stay tuned.
