Have you been indecisive on what your 2012 calendar should be, and are you a fan of all the amazing photoshop work that artist TaskOne has done over the past few years with custom vinyl figures?!?!?! Well, look no further... because this kills two birds with one stone, as Task just released a fantastic new calendar featuring works from 12 different artists... all of which are in super surrealistic environments that Task created! 12 months of 12 custom toys, from 12 custom designer toy artists, in 12 apocalyptic scenes... the perfect combination featuring works from: Ian Ziobrowski, DrilOne, TaskOne, Kevin Gosselin, Motorbot, Nerviswr3k, Leecifer, Chauskoskis, Rsin Art, Jay222 Toys, SpankyStokes (hey, that's me) and J*Ryu! This turned out spectacular and can be picked up HERE right now! Oh, and if you need a little help deciding if you want o buy it, hit the jump as Task spells out the TOP 10 REASONS WHY YOU NEED ONE!
1. You need a new calender for this year anyway...
2. Your sick of calenders with flowers, hillsides and puppies...
3. Who doesn't want to watch the apocalypse...
4. When it's done you have 12 glossy prints by 12 great custom designer toy artists...
5. It's like paying 1.68 each for 12 prints...
6. To help support the custom designer toy community...
7. Because a custom toy angel gets it's wings every time one is sold...
8. It's s whole lot cheaper then buying 12 customs...
9. The toys will hate you for not getting one...
10. It may be the last calender you ever buy...!!!

Huck Gee's "Warhog & Hog Master" custom set
Last week we posted up an awesome commission piece HERE by Huck Gee titled the "Octo Samurai" & "Sushi Chef"... well the same collector, Toronto based johnnyvinyl, who had commissioned Huck to do those same pieces has just revealed a new set of customs... of EPIC proportions I might add. Introducing "Warhog" & "Hog Master"... and holy crap are these rad! According to johnnyvinyl, the "Warhog" is a completely new and original sculpt, and he mentions that it is has been lurking in Huck's sketchbook for a long time now... looking to get out... and this design/concept actually predates his turret elephant sculpts that were part of his 11/10 show! Also to mention is the use of the 'smiley face' logo on the side of the hog and on the back of the "Hog Master's" jacket... johnnyvinyl says that "Huck has a talent of conveying so much with so few strokes, just by simply extending the smile of the typical smiley face past the outline of the face, he's captured the characteristic underbite of a warthog" ... and if you look closely the nose of the warthog and the underbite actually forms the face... really cool! So what's next... time will tell... and I can't wait to see what Huck has up his sleeve for this commission of GRANDeur!

Scott Radke's Totem commission, a WIP...
Woah... I like totem's, but this is just out of the world cool... as artist Scott Radke continues to chip away at a massive 67” tall animal totem for filmmaker Morgan Spurlock... AWESOME!!! According to the CP news, it appears that this piece is pretty much reached the end of it's sculpting stage and is ready for some paint... can't wait to see it all done up!
