Jai & Jai's "Stubbs + Lulu" resin Chow Chows by Pretty in Plastic!

Jai & Jai Gallery, located in Los Angeles's Chinatown, is owned by two sisters who took the leap from displaying art to creating it… With a design based on their own Chow Chow pups, the sisters enlisted Julie B's Pretty In Plastic to fabricate the actual 60 piece run of resin figures: "Stubbs," the smooth-coated male, and "Lulu," she of the crazy spikes. Each of the 4.5-inch tall figures comes in a hand-crafted bamboo box, with the designs being cast in Pop Pink, Bubblegum Blue, Porcelain White, Seafoam Green, or one of "a few special, one-off 'chase' colors available at random."

The pieces will be released at a special event held at the Jai & Jai Gallery (648 North Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012) on Saturday, July 28th from 7-10PM. The artists will be in attendance and each boxed pooch will cost $135.
