WHAT'S NEW

Nathan Hamill's Bellicosity pieces by Rsin, Mikie Graham & OsirisOrion!

We've been showing tons of WIP (work-in-progress) pics from the upcoming "Bellicosity" group custom show, which calls for artists to utilize Nathan Hamill's Bellicose Bunny as the base platform. But now is the time to show some pictures of finished pieces!
We adored Rsin's piece, entitled "Quasi," from the WIP pics alone… and couldn't image how that bad boy could get any better. But now that we see the finished piece (above), it becomes clear that it just needed some minor finished touches which did make it even better. The fur is done in Rsin's traditional & memorable sculpt style, the rocket is painted to perfection and I love the blend of grays in the smoke exhast. Plus, he's wearing a helmet… still love that.
You can see better quality copies of these pics on Rsin's Facebook page HERE.

We barely got to see Mikie Graham's piece from his WIP pics, but now that we see it painted (above) there is love in the air. The Bellicose Bunny platform has an inherent cartoonishness about it, so Mikie completely played it up here. The paint job looks slick and well-defined, I love the wide eyes and screaming mouth. Not sure if the piece is entitled "Blast Off Bunny" or not, but we'll go with that for now…

And — finally — we have OsirisOrion's piece. There's been a lot of changes to the coloring since the WIP pics and I'm not honestly sure how I feel about them. I liked the goggles being silver better for sure, but the finalized spots on the rabbit's fur are absolutely… um… spot on. I will say that Orion seems to have a lot of color bleeds and blending; which I'm sure was intentional given his skill level, but makes it look — to me — a bit amateurish. But the beauty of the spots really does save this piece for me… absolutely fantastic job on those!
