"Fantastic Heroes" pieces by Emily Bee
Recent UK transplant and uber artist Emily Bee just informed us that she was asked to participate in a 2-person show with 'Cee' in Zürich at The Trace Gallery which opened up last week. The show titled "FANTASTIC HEROES" featured over 40 items from Emily alone which included custom vinyl, paintings, sculpture, plush and prints. Drawing inspiration from the old saying "A picture can say a thousand words" Emily used that, flipped it around, and decided to draw meaning from single words, and the immense power that they have... which is very apparent in this body of work! Above is just a taste of what she offerd up, and for many more pictures hit up her site HERE. If you are interested in purchasing a piece, contact Regina Schibli at The Trace Gallery by phone (+41 78 684 30 64) or by email (regina@thetrace.ch) for availability.

Coarse Toys "Casting Shadows" - 'Pain' edition
Spotted first at last years Glimpse of Truth exhibition as a two-piece resin set, and released inn a few different versions in vinyl since then, the guys at Coarse Toys are proud to announce the next release of their "Casting Shadows" set... this one called 'Pain'! It is amazing to see the progression of the art that Coarse produces... all are unique in their own way, yet still share the same common bond between their catalog of work. This set will be available in two editions.
The first version is called the "Soul" edition, and it will retail for $470... which includes shipping! This set is limited to just 200 pieces and comes packed and encased in an impressive, wooden, 5 color truetone screenprinted chest, complete with elastic draw cords. The soul edition will be available on December 20, 2011 at www.coarsehkg.com at 07:59am PST. Up next is the "Signature" edition, which will retail for $360, and is set to hit stores in spring 2012. The figures are securely embedded in black sponge, and packaged in a smooth all matte-black corrugated cardboard box. One of the unique things about this set is the packaging... and as you can see above in the animation, it has an interactive pop up sleeve which allows you to eye-witness how blood streams out of "Noop's" mouth and "Nism" says "good bye". The two vinyl figures stand 4" tall and 7" tall and come with a really cool fabric Paw! kite... which extends to 14" tall! Amazing work as always and its great to see Coarse continually push the boundaries of art toys aw we know it!

Santa Claus Zombie by TazX
Talk about a mangy looking Santa Clause... as Brazilian based artist TazX recently completed a really great looking custom Santa Claus Zombie based on Huck Gee's 'Zombie' from the 2011 series. I really love the facial expression on him, and the one eaten out eye looks great... all around this may just be my favorite custom from TazX to date!
