"Argh Barber" by Scott Tolleson X Zagal Creativo

We just got some great images from Scott Tolleson as he is sharing with us an upcoming project that he has been working with the folks over at the Mexican based Zagal Creativo. According to Scott, he has been working very closely with them to create who he is calling "Argh Barber" a fun looking character that will be in Zagal's token suspended clear acrylic format!!!

As you can see from the control art above, Scott's smooth vector stylings transfer over to this imbued acrylic process really well and according to Scott, these will be a limited run of only 10 pieces worldwide! The rest of the details such as the price and drop date will be forth coming, but if you wanna keep tabs on this project be sure to either check Scott's blog HERE, or his Facebook status updates HERE for info in the future about these. How sick do these look... I love the clear acrylic format... it gives another dimension to character creation, and Scott is right on the money with this little guy... AWESOME!!!!!

"Toy Soldier" themed Android by Gary Ham

It seems like just yesterday we wee writing about Gary Ham's "Snowman" themed Android figure that released a year ago this month (posted HERE), and now we just received word that Andrew Bell and Dyzplastic has teamed up with Gary once again this holiday season to release a special edition Android mini collectible "Toy Soldier" design where each soldier includes a decorative removable key accessory that fits into a hole in his back. These will be up for grabs in two waves... the first batch will be available in the Dead Zebra Shop starting Wednesday, December 14th at 11am EST, and the second batch will go online Wednesday, December 14th at 11pm EST. While there is no word on a price, I can only assume that they will be around the $10-$12 range, a great deal on a sweet holiday themed vinyl figure!

"Ji Ja bird" from Mr. Clement

Ahhhh a breath of fresh air... just looking at the above new figure from Mr Clement, really makes me step back and appreciate the designer toy scene... and how simplistic an object can be, yet evoke so much. This is totally the feeling I get when I look at the new "Ji Ja bird" which is a new character from Mr Clement's comic - Ji Ja café - and as the story goes, "this pair of little birds are only able to speak "Ji" and "Ja", they are exploring the world between frames, carrying a mysterious message in the tiny envelope to someone who is waiting for it and like every journey there are stories to tell on the way." There are 2 colors available to purchase, yellow and white, and each 3.2" tall figure comes with a small paper open envelope (2cm X 1.2 cm) that fits into the mouth of figure. They are 3 jointed figures, arms and neck... and every single one has a limited edition number of 300 pieces. If these are like Mr. Clement's other releases they will sell out fast, and seeing as they are only $35 each... I can almost guarantee they will sell out fast! They can be picked up HERE right now, and are going to be available at most designer toy retail locations worldwide!

Jesse Hernandez x RAJE Toys "MECHA AZTECA"

So it looks like the fellas over at RAJE toys have been hard at works as they not only revealed the OG colorway of Jesse Hernandez's new Aztec inspired "MECHA AZTECA" figure back in September, but now they are showing off the beautiful sculpt in its entirety... and wow does this thing look awesome! The bold lines and sharp edges along with Jesse's awesome choice of colors... you know this thing is going to pop. It really is a fierce looking character, and I look forward to seeing more very soon as RAJE is saying that prices, order information and alternate colorways will be dropping shortly!

Vannen x Descendents - "Cool To Be You" watch

We showed off a nice little teaser HERE last week for an awesome release that had us super pumped... and Vannen Watches is proud to announce the release of their first band watch, and what better way to kick it off with the Descendents!!! Probably one of the best punk-rock bands to grace this earth, Vannen has captured the look and feel of the band by utilizing the design based on their last studio record "Cool To Be You" and transforming it into a timeless, limited edition, timepiece dubbed the "Cool Watch"! Limited to 300 pieces and set to retail for $85 each, "Cool Watch" is signed and numbered by the entire band, and six watches will come with special coupons, redeemable for a limited edition, 18" X 24" screen print designed by artist Brian Ewing that is redeemable for a Descendents print that Brian created for their NYC show back in September. Oh, and here's the kicker... each watch is coffee-scented. YES! Each watch smells like coffee, and if you are a true Descendents fan, you will fully appreciate this feature :-)

I can remember seeing the Descendents on New Years Eve back in 1995 and think how cool it was, so you can guarantee I will be snagging one of these up. "Cool Watch" will be available only at descendentsonline.com, vannenwatches.com, Kingsroadmerch.com, select Newbury Comics locations, and Descendents live shows. This turned out bitchen, and after seeing this watch I am curious to see what other plans Vannen has up their sleeves in terms of bands, but in the meantime do me a favor, don't sit in the corner eating sour grapes... because this watch is available now, so get it while the getting is good!
