*REVIEW* Kidrobot x Skullcandy - "Kidrobot Mix Master" designer headphones & Dunny set

Recently announced was yet another collaboration with Kidrobot, but instead of rocking flashy time pieces around your wrists, this go around they are allowing you to wear their brand on your head... and no I am not talking about a hat, as they teamed up with Skullcandy to release some designer headphones! Now these were released in two different versions, the first set dubed "Kidrobot Agent Pop-art" is a bright vibrant blue and white with a pop of magenta which retailed for for $59.95... but we aren't here to talk about those...

The second set, is the one that I got my hands on, and above in the video is a LIVE review that I did a few days back! These are dubbed the "Kidrobot Mix Master" set and they are inspired by Mix-Master Mike of the Beastie Boys... and basically what Kidrobot did is place their logo in a few different locations, as well as a great looking Dunny pattern along the headband on an already established GREAT set of headphones... and why not?!?! This set is limited to only 1000 pieces worldwide, and is also accompanied by exclusive “chrome” 3-inch “jacked-up” Dunny, with decorative jack in the face... where the headphones actually plug into! The headphones feature plush soft touch ear pillows, shatterproof construction, one-touch mute (which is a great feature) and duel channel cue control, interchangeable deejay cable and cable inputs, and stashable 3-piece foldable design! Now I am not an audiophile, but my goodness do these sound good, and after doing a little research about this particular set I can tell you with assurance that these headphones are legit... in fact they are some of the best, if not the best in this price range/type... and you get a limited edition Dunny thrown in as well... a win/win! These are a bit costly though, $299... but like mentioned above, if you are looking for a great set of headphones and you collect vinyl figures... this is the set to get! Head on over HERE now and pick up a pair for yourself!

Huck Gee has one more trick left up his sleeve for 2011, and what a doozie it is, as he just announced a custom made 8" Dunny series based on his 'Gold Life' characters... introducing "Kabuki" the Masked Ronin! According to Huck this "golden armored, naginata wielding, protector of Kitsune... is The Masked Geisha, the mirrored trickster, her reflection of anger and retribution incarnate." Each one of these 10 figures set is signed, numbered and comes with shown accessories... for $750 per figure, and just like the majority of his sales, if you are interested please email sales@huckgee.com ASAP to reserve your figure and make payment arrangements. Josh Mayhem's “The Askew Rangers” custom series

We get submissions on a daily basis to show of work of artist from around the world, and most recently we were contacted by Josh Mayhem as he recently completed a line of custom vinyl figures that he is calling “The Askew Rangers”... and as you can see from the shots above, these customs are "Heavily armed creatures from the forest of the future battling for supremacy in a world where survival of the fittest is the only law of the jungle". Deep rooted with vibrant colors and crisp lines utilizing simple paint foundations as complimentary backdrops to an overwhelming display of weaponry and accessories. Josh uses a whole array of techniques to complete each and every piece... from pieces of scrap metal, wires from vintage electronics and weaponry accessories from the creator's massive collection of vintage action figures, as well as some form of a working component like working lights, spring loaded and moveable devices, and removable elements that evoke the versatility of an action figure with the visual aesthetic of a vinyl toy. Josh kinda just busted onto the scene... and shows no signs of stopping. Hit up his site HERE for many more photos, and keep your eyes peeled for more from him in the near future.
