Designer-Con release... and I am stoked to present the limited edition 'Stroll' Cavey! This is a collaboration between myself and my good friend Holly of HeyCavey, where we set this project in motion at SDCC earlier this year, and Holly brought to life my 'Stroll' mascot in Cavey form! This fluffy one-eyed creature is limited to just 10 numbered pieces and is made from cuddly soft off-white fleece, and according to Holly this might just be the softest Cavey yet! he comes with a layered hand cut felt eye, little felt teeth, hand embellished felt horns and a little belly button. Each 'Stroll' Cavey comes with a goody bag full of SS.com stickers, badges and goodies, a Cavey carry bag and black enamel Cavey badge. Apart from 5 blanks that have been requested by Matt 'Lunartik' Jones, artist DMS has created the last and final run of his "Cuppa Carbonites" resin figures! Titled 'Gold Blend' these will be limited to a maximum of 15, with 5 additional 'Gold Leaf' chase pieces thrown into the mix that have a shiny solid gold leaf paint job. One of which will be signed by Matt JOnes and DMS. They will be available for pre-order for $40 HERE on Friday, October 28th! Mr. Tom Morrow Collectible Toys" will be making its debut at this years Designer-Con 2011... in fact this is his very first event as a vendor/artist, so he's gotta be stoked! Nathan will have a ton of stuff up for grabs during the 1-day convention which includes shirts, buttons, art prints, and a rad 1.5" copper coin that is limited to 100 pieces! AS you can see from all the images above, Nathan's style is influenced by the mid-century modern era and he tells us that his main characters are Tom Morrow robots, "Electric Tom", "Steam Tom" and "Atomic Tom"... a fun group of characters! If you are planning on attending D-Con, be sure to swing by booth #505 and check out all this stuff in person
Chip Thompson is excited to announce his first art toy called "Woots!", which are made 100% of genuine hardwoods. Oh, and who better to team up with on a project that involves wood than Pepe Smallstuff, the man behind "Arborobots", "WoodSprites", "HeartWoods", and other awesome collectible wooden toys! Chips tells us that "I've been a professional graphic designer for nearly 25 years. This year, I finally took the plunge and started a toy company called Box Rebellion... and designed these fun little guys as a quirky, 3-dimensional nod to chat culture...specifically, the acronyms that have made their way into our modern language." These new figures look really nice and are currently in deep production... so there is no specific release date yet, but when the time comes all pertinent info will be post up here! I am really looking forward to seeing more... what fun little creations!
