[Z0MZ] the new figure from Dynomight NYC

It's been some time since we have heard from the guys, J-R00 and JBat, over at Dynomight NYC... but we just received an awesome email with the subject line "Dynomight NYC is back!" and were stoked to find that they have been hard at work on a new figure, in fact they are marketing as their new platform figure called [Z0MZ]. According to DYNC "[Z0MZ] are customizable and programmable robotic minions at your disposal! [Z0MZ] can be much more terrifying than a walking sack of mindless flesh. These zombie-like automatons can run! As we all know real zombies can't. ;P A [Z0MZ] disposition and primary function is totally in the hands of the end-user. That's you!"

This piece is being sculpted by the very talented Bigshot Toyworks and as you can see fro the render above, they did a fantastic job translating J-R00's style into a 3D environment and if you notice the form as it stands now from his initial submission sheet... Bigshot did what needed to be done to make this piece work... and is it me, or does this figure have a touch of Dynomight NYC's previous "Bumrush" figure in it :-) Either way I am diggin what I am seeing, so keep those eyes peeled for them t drop late 2011 or early 2012.

MaK teaser by 3A

Photobucket
This years SDCC was filled with so many great memories and awesome news for toys, and yet one of my most favorite was the news of the collaboration between Ashley Wood's ThreeA and Kow Yokoyama. So it was a great find to pop over to Ashley's blog and spy a new teaser image of a 1:12 Krote. At first glance it appears that the main turret gun is motorized and rotates though this may just be a fun custom job their trying out, also I love the light up spot light, again something that may only be a exploration in what is possible. I am still trying to figure out the figure in the background but it looks amazing as well. My best advice at this time is to start saving up now for all these great designs to come.

ORIGINAL FAKE x KAWS x PEANUTS - "JOE KAWS"... another uninspired Kaws piece?!?!

So the internet has been buzzing about the latest Kaws piece in which he took the iconic "Snoopy" cartoon figure originally created by Charles Schulz, and added his trademarked 'XX' over the eyes. Man... I just don't get it, and the fact that he is charging $240 for this uninspired figure, kinda speechless. In any event, this special collaboration between ORIGINAL FAKE x KAWS x PEANUTS dubbed the "JOE KAWS" is up for pre-order HERE at Toyqube right now. Art, or lack there of, is truly in the 'XX' of the beholder.

"Gundam Graff Bombers" by Hoakser

UK based custom artist Hoakser just finished up a couple new pieces... and although we don;t normally cover 'Gundam' based bots, these little guys are too cool not to mention! Hoasker mentions that he just finished doing a little solo graff show, that took up all his time, so he hasn't had any time to play with toys for a few weeks... but he just completed the second run of his "Gundam Graff Bombers" and they are up right now HERE in his online store for $48! It's so fitting to see spraycaps as heads on figures... and it works pretty darn well on these!
