Toys and Beer... YES PLEASE!!!!

It wasn't too long ago we showed off a coffee shop in South Philly called "Strange Brew Coffee" where the owner incorporated his love for designer toys into the motif of his shop... well by total coincidence artist Marka27 just informed us of a special bar in Dallas, Texas called "Strangeways" that carries over the same love for designer toys as most of us... except they have it all on display for everyone to see! Marka also tells us that they have an impressive 40 beers on tap, excellent mexican dishes, and the coup de gras... an art collection from some of today's hottest artists like Barry Mcgee, Tim Biskup, PussHead, Kaws, Bounty Hunter, and many more! I can tell you one thing for sure... if I am ever in Texas, I know where I am going for a beer and a bite! Oh, and if you are around the area, swing by and let us know what you think!

"Zombie-A-Day Art Project" from Zombiemonkie

Halloween is creeping up and our old friend Zombiemonkie (aka Mikie Graham) has been hard at work in his basement studio, toiling away day and night on his newest creation the "Zombie Art Project" Mikie explains: "The Zombie Art Project has been in the works for a very long time now. I started working on custom Playmobil zombies over 3 years ago when after buying a friend's toy collection I found myself with a bag of extra Playmobil people. They were so cute and family friendly that I just had to turn them into something horrific! After zombiefying my first pair I realized how fun and cathartic they were to make and I began to produce these mini horrors for fun as a distraction while working on larger more detailed toys. As the years past my army grew... until this year when I found that I had about 20 complete. I realized that with a little extra work I could have enough for every day of October and Z.A.P. was born."

This awesome set of 65 figures holds tons of surprises, including 4 "outbreak survivors," multiple "celebrity zombies," one playset, and enough humorous gore to make even the most jaded Horror fan smile. Figure pairs will range in price between $30 and $60 depending on the cost of the original figure and amount of work involved. All zombies are hand-painted and in most cases have added hand sculpted details in order to complete their custom zombifacation. To top it all off, each pair of Z.A.P. figures comes housed in their own 6" wooden coffin that has been hand-stained and painted with a bloody red Z.A.P. logo! To check out the Zombie Art Project head over to http://zombiemonkie.com/ EVERY day of October for a daily dose of gory zombie goodness. We will be revealing 7-8 new zombies a week leading up the the mystery reveal of the playset ON Halloween day, So make sure to check back weekly for your regular zombie update.

Tenacious Toys interviews... me :-)

I was totally flattered when I was asked by Benny of Tenacious Toys to talk about my resin escapades over the past few years as I have been pumping out my "Borracho De Los Muertos" figures. One thing I did not realize however, and Benny brought it to my attention, is that many people had no idea I was doing this all myself... or that I was involved with the creation process period! Needless to say, I had a great time answering the questions so if you have a few minutes and are curious about how this whole thing came about... hit the link HERE and enjoy! Thanks for the opportunity Benny!
