Toy Karma 3 opens tonight @ Rotofugi!!!!!!

The day is upon us! Toy Karma 3 officially opens this evening at 7pm and Rotofugi is making final preparations as I type this with the help of curator Mark Nagata of Max Toy Company! The opening reception goes until 10pm and they will have music by DJ Crotchbat, snacks by Fritz Pastry and sodas for all (while it lasts). If you’re in Chicago and plan on attending the opening, you can stop by the store anytime today for a line ticket to purchase exhibit pieces and exclusives. No ticket is required to attend, the line ticket simply sets the order in which attendees get to make purchases. Both exhibit pieces and exclusives will be offered to members of thier preview List after the opening (most likely on Monday, September 12) so if you’re not already on the list, sign up HERE. Oh and above is just a taste of what you can expect to see at this show... amazing, not to mention that beast below...

Chris Ryniak's "Big Muscamoot", from the Lake Monsters series, has made the leap from the lake to the endless skies in this version which is titled the "Cosmic" Version, and is set to land at Toy Karma 3! This version of Big Muscamoot was painted up by Joe Somers of Squibbles Ink and Kirby Kerr of Rotofugi. There is no word on how many will be available but they are going to retail for $65 each... a steal!

*REVIEW* Pobber x Doktor A. "Dapper" Humphrey Mooncalf retailer exclusive edition

Spotted for the first time at this past SDCC 2011 on display at DKE's booth was the fantastic new figure from Doktor A. dubbed Humphry Mooncalf, which was produced by vinyl toy newcomers Pobber Toys! This version titled the "Dapper" edition is not the first colorway of this figure as the "Verdegris" (posted HERE) version was released a few months earlier before the con, but the one we got our hand on for the purpose of this review is the retailer exclusive version... and how dapper he is! This 8" tall (yup he's that big) figure looks really great in this fully painted up version, I especially like the color combo of the smoking jacket along with the gray pants... and how can you not like the oxidized face and brain... SUPER COOL!

So this stoic gentle-robot, like mentioned above, is the retailer exclusive... meaning that you can find him at only certain designer toy shops, and I say certain because he's a limited edition of just 250 pieces! If you can find him around, he is retailing for around $85 a pop and in the above LIVE video review you can get a good taste of how cool this figure is and how worth while your money will be spent. Take a few minutes and give the video a watch as we talk about the packaging, the quality control, we touch on Pobber Toys, and answer a few questions for those people who tuned in when we filmed this review! Oh, and if you are interested in picking this rad vinyl figure up, please click on pretty much anyone of our site sponsors, and thanks for watching!
