The stage has been set... all the customs have been unpacked, and set up in their places at
Dragatomi's gallery, and the only thing left is for them to open their doors tomorrow night for
Drilone's very first solo show titled “
Greetings from Hell”! I actually had the opportunity this evening to view the galley in it's entirety via video conference, and I just gotta say for all of those heading out to this tomorrow... you are in for a serious treat as Dril tackled almost every platform out there from
3” and 8” Dunnys, a 16” Custom Toyer Qee, to a custom antique inspired sign a vintage radio, birdhouses, heck, he even created an amazing taxidermy shark...
Dril went all out, like mentioned before, he transformed the
Dragatomi Gallery space into a faux corroded inner workings of what appears to be a large metal hull of sorts, and on top of that built scratch wood platforms, borders, and barricades really enhancing the gallery look and feel for his very first solo show! Above you can see a few pieces that Dril created for this show, but there are soooo many more, and if you hit the link
HERE you can check out the preview list... but be warned, over half the show has sold out already... an awesome feat for a well deserving, hard working artist!

Photographer
Frank Schaefer is know for the composition of his toy photography, and when tasked with the theme of Bullying for SuperCoopers 'Stop It!' show opening tomorrow night at
Munky King in Los Angeles he knew he had to photograph Paul Fresno’s
Circus Punk which was created by
Chuck Sperry and titled "
Osama McDonald"... well Frank thought this figure would totally be perfect as the ultimate anti bullying photo, and above is his excellent rendition! Be sure to come out tomorrow to see this, as well as TONS of other pieces in person!

"
Beware Tall Grass" is a show inspired by a certain group of Japanese monsters that have plagued us now for generations, bringing joy to both kids and adults alike for over a decade. The show, going down on November 18th 2011 at
Kidrobot London, will be featuring the work of a select group of UK based artists:
Fadeworks, Lunartik, Emily Bee, Okkle, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Sneaky Raccoon, Squink, A little Stranger, Podgy Panda, and Phil Corbett, with all of the pieces featured being on auction leading up to and throughout the show. The poster above is seriously sick and is a very great lead into this show... I for one can't wait to see what comes of it as the artists involved are all SUPER talented! You can keep tabs on a daily basis by visiting the official site
HERE... more very soon!

We have been following the release of
Junko Mizuno's new
Vannen XL series watch
very closely... and today is the release and full reveal of this epic time piece entitled "
Cirrina", and as you can see from the above pictures, this watch just oozes with Junko Mizuno art goodness! This watch, like mentioned before, is limited to
150 pieces,
retails for $85 and can be picked up
HERE right now! Each one comes with signed and numbered packaging, and as a bonus, one lucky person who picks up Cirrina will receive the original drawing created just for this release. I love the use of bright imagery on this piece as it evokes some pretty dark undertones with the classic Junko themed piece we were all expecting! Don't sleep on
picking up this watch folks, as all previous Vannen XL series watches are now long sold out!

Holy smokes... check out this amazing custom recently completed by Tam aka
Okedoki as she took her love for Star Wars and created one fantastic looking custom vinyl figure! titled "
Boba Fatt", Tam took the very bulbous 'Daminci' figure originally created by Tim Tsui and transformed it into the very large and in charge intergalactic burgerhunter! Tam states that "
I absolutely love Starwars, so I was very excited about this particular piece. There was a lot of intricate sculpting for it, along with the accessories that I built from scratch." Which by the way is fully apparent in the above pictures! Tam added the 7/11 and Mc Donalds logos in there as it is her take on our contemporary love for fast food, and also the consequence of it... hence Boba Fatt! This was created as a commission for a very luck private collector, which I am sure will be displaying this in their collection very proudly!

Continuing with the art show theme, and more specifically the show at Munky King this Saturday dubbed "Stop It!" that SuperCooper is curating... artist EOS over at
Fuzzy Bones Art Studio created an original painting titled "
Anthology of Dead Words" which measures 11"x14" and was created by using Charcoal, Acrylics, Sharpie on Bristol Paper. This piece has so much going on, and really has some deep meanings in it... as the bullying theme for this show is very prevalent in the submitted piece!

Seeing as SuperCooper's show titled "Stop It!" is launching this weekend at
Munky King, which is going to feature art from over 70+ artists, it's only natural we start seeing preview pieces for the show right?!?!?! Well, artist
Jay222 sent over some pictures of his submission for the show and wow did it turn out great. Titled "
Bully The Kid", Jay played off the theme for this show cyber bullying - added a nice western twist (Billy The Kid) - and constructed a one-off original sculpture for it. It's really great to see some original non platform work... and from the looks of it, there is a good handful in this show! Great stuff Jay!
