First spotted and released at SDCC 2011, MattyBoomBattty of
Smash Tokyo Toys was stoked to have finally released his new Toy2R
"BEARTANK" Mini-Qee... and we were able to snag one up, and above is a LIVE recorded video review of this cool figure... so watch is would ya :-) This 5" tall Qee is STT's first vinyl toy and Matty being a super fan of Toy2R... let's just say it was a dream come true!!!
I really like the design of this figure, and the new Mini-Qee platform is the perfect size to fit all those crisp vector lines into one tight package. One thing I would like to see though is for Matty to release this figure as it was initially supposed to be released... as its own unique figure and not on a platform toy... although it works well, I would live to see an actual "BearTank" robot! These are available right now
at most vinyl retail shops
for only $28 a piece, and if your local shop does not have them, tell them to contact
DKE as they are distributing these figures!

Check out the latest collaboration that Singapore toy customizer
PHU took a part in as he teamed up with
Red Army Camera, to create what they are calling "
The Soviet Rumble" collection! This is a series of fully customized camera docks for their 'Fed 5B' range of vintage film cameras... and as you can see from the above photo, PHU did a killer job turning this camera into an awesome looking tank like creation! The idea behind this series is to portray the camera as an art piece that creates art. Designed in a PHUturistic fashion, each piece is unique and will not be reproduced. All of these are set to go up for sale
HERE next week... so get ready!

As part of his ongoing list of commissions, artist
Rsin recently slayed Jesse Hernandez's "
Bandito Muerto" vinyl figure with his muted down yet vibrant color pallet, breathing new life into this once monochromatic character. I absolutely love the way this turned out, and it just goes to show how much of a talent Rsin really is... keep killing it man!

Are you all ready for something different, good! What's been in the works for some time now and is set to officially launch this September is
Shane Jessup's new art venture dubbed '
HACHI Supply'... and it's not what you think! HACHI Supply is something that Shane came up with to help fill the void of designer accessories for pets... more specifically this all spurred from trying to find collars or leashes for his 8-year-old dog Cortez, Shane was unable to find anything that represented his lifestyle... so why not create his own brand, and that is exactly what he is doing! With the help from artists such as
Tristan Eaton, UPSO, DALEK, and
TADO for the first wave of designs, you know this is going to be something everyone would want for their dog... now to get Shane to do something for us crazy cat owners out there :-) More info on this very soon, but in the mean time hit up their, official website
HERE and follow them on Twitter

Dropping in less than a few hours is this amazing custom resin Jura originally created by
Sam Griffiths of Planet Domu and painted up in the above beautiful fashion by
Lunabee. Titled "Orcus" this figure stands 5" x 6" and is covered 100% from head to toe in an awesome paint scheme that leaves me wondering what other artists can do with this rad figure! Be sure to hit up Lunabee's shop
HERE at 11am PST to snatch this up!
The backstory of Orcus:
"
Orcus is a giant, lonely wanderer who roams the forests of Booshka collecting the bones and skulls of dead animals for his collection. Despite his fearsome looks, Orcus is a gentle soul. He tried to make friends with the local tribalfolk but his giant block like hands and huge teeth scared them away. He now lives in a small cave up in the mountains where he tends to his morbid collection."

Venezuelan based
burunDANGA Design sent up this impressive group of customs and I'm digging their style! The duo has been doing clothing and corporate designs since 2006 but just recently decided to get into the vinyl toy scene, and from the looks of these customs I can see why... they are awesome. They will have some stuff available online through
Freak Store soon so keep a look out for more customs and art from
burunDANGA Design!
