"Returning Art To The Unclean" new solo show from Brian M. Viveros @ Last Rites Gallery

Last Rites Gallery is proud to be hosting the uber talented Brian Viveros in his next solo show titled "Returning Art To The Unclean"... and holy smokes is this show going to be off the chain!!!! Known for his strong and sensuous depictions of women, Brian M. Viveros is a master of contemporary iconography paying homage to the femme fatale. From smoking bad-girls who flaunt battle scars and tattoos to rocking some rad army paraphernalia and luchador masks, this show has it all... and with some serious style that memorizes the viewer! This show will feature an all new collection of original paintings, as well as special rare prints from the artist's own collection; poster giveaway and signing; live "Smoking Army" performance; screening of Brian's films along with his new short, and much more... so don't miss it! Custom "Dunny №.17" from Trenton M. Studios

It’s been a while since we have heard from Trenton M Studios, but as of lately he has been hard at work on a few customs and above is his newest piece! This new 3" custom Dunny titled "Dunny №.17" has a very morbid look and feel, but on the other hand - there is something really cute about him as well! Trenton used acrylics, watercolor, and ink to create this lil guy, and it's up for grabs right now HERE via his online store, so go grab him up!

*REVIEW* Pocket Change Series 1

I recently had the opportunity to review the new designer collectible coins called "Pocket Change" Art Coins Series 1... and I gotta say these things are seriously cool! These were a group collaboration between Ben Goretsky of 3DRetro.com, Scott Tolleson of StolleArt, and George & Ayleen Gaspar of October Toys and they feature amazingly intricate engraved coins by well known artists such as Andrew Bell, Frank Kozik, Joe Ledbetter, Scott Tolleson, and 64Colors.
In the above video you will get a great look at each one as I did a live review and talked with those who joined in on the conversation. Each limited edition, 1.5" coin can be picked up for $12 each, but you can save money by buying the full set for $50 which brings it back to the convention special price of $10 per coin... get them HERE! You can also follow the progress of other series' in the works by visiting http://www.PocketChangeArt.com! I would totally recommended picking these up while they are still available, or you will be kicking yourself once Series 2 comes out :-)

Well, it appears that the "Toy Karma" show has made it to it's third year running now, and just like the past two years, Rotofugi is hosting this even which is being curated by Max Toy Co's Mark Nagata! This show is going down on September 10th - October 2nd, and Leecifer has decided to torch the place up a little bit with three amazing custom Honoo's! Just like the majority of Lee's work these rad dry-brushed custom vinyl pieces take on a life of their own and boy do they look killer! These are "Peony" (pink), "BombPop" (red, wht, blue), and "Golden Deth" (gold, yel, org, red, blk) Honoo's and will be up for grabs at the show! Great stuff Lee!

Cookies-N-Cream x Argonaut Resins - "The Argo Dunks" resin Sneakerhead release!!!!

More resin news... and why not?!?!?! It looks like the fellas over at Cookies-N-Cream have teamed up once again with Eric from Argonaut Resins to release a limited run of what they are calling "The Argo Dunks". Originally posted HERE, these Argo Dunks are a set of handmade resin Sneakerhead pieces crafted by Eric "Nocella" Diaz (END) of Argonaut Resins and the first set of 5 Argo Dunks are: The Strawberry Dunks, The Grape Dunks, The Green Apple Dunks, The Icy Mint dunks and a very special one - The Afghan Gold Dunks.
These are all exclusive pieces and each come with the regular head of the figure as well as the DIY head. The Sneakerhead figure itself has not been released to the public at large so these Argo Dunks are some of the first pieces of the figure ever to be sold. Each piece measures 6" tall and is cast in a brilliant tinted solid resin figure... they are set to retail for $120 and each comes with a limited handmade custom Sneakerhead box. These sets will be available for sale via the CnC online shop HERE this Friday, August 26th 2011, and like mentioned above these are really limited so be sure to pull the trigger at the above date and time as they will be gone for good after that!
