Mad Battleman "Nightfall" edition 08/15/2011

Oh shoot... some great news has just been released about the drop of Mike Sutfin x Reckless Toys Mad Battle Man "Nightfall" edition... and it's set to be up for grabs this Monday, August 15, at 12pm Noon EST HERE. This beast of a figure stands 9" tall and for the "Nightfall" version they took the simplistic, yet stylized, route by accentuating the texture and details on this figure with white paint and silver spray on gloss-black vinyl. I truly dig this version, much more than the previous "Dusk" colorway, and for $99... it's a pretty killer deal! Be sure to head on over HERE at the above date and time to secure your figure.

New "Le Turd" & "Little Prick's" from Super7

Just when you thought it was safe to start saving your money Super7 is letting loose some more figures this coming Friday. First up, and riding into town on a skateboard made of rainbows is Le Turd! Le Merde's total shredder is color-blasted on translucent red vinyl, and dying to get out there and tear it up.

Joining him this Friday is the translucent green Little Prick, the cactus creature who never leaves the house without clean underwear. His personality can be a bit prickly, but he always keeps it all ages. Both are scheduled for release this Friday, August 12th at 12pm Noon PST... so who's game on these?

Ashley Wood to release new social network for toys and collectors

Photobucket
Ashley Wood announced early last week that he was working on a new social network for toy collectors along with his technical guru Mr.12fingers. The new site titled "Plastic Kartel" is still in beta testing and closed to the public at this time but having had a chance to check it out I must say it's really something to explore, the closest I could compare it to is a sort of "Facebook" for toys lovers. The layers of features provided should make it quite fun for people interested in any sort of toy from Kaiju to 1:6 figures, to Designer Vinyl toys of any kind. Some of the added benefits will be the addition of private blogs as well as stores and auctions (though those are still being worked on at this moment) The site itself is scheduled to be open to the public on Aug 12. Look for more info here as we get further details.

MAD's "Bent World Beats" are dropping like it's hot!!!

Originally created/concepted about the same time as his now released "Bent World Vandal" series, MAD has been sitting on these designs, biding his time, and now his "Bent World Beats" are slated to see the light of day as a mini-figure series produced by Kidrobot! This is really great news as before The Pitch Music Showcase used a few of these characters in a shirt that MAD designed for them, which by the way sold for only $7 back in July of 2009!

Now, Kidrobot officially announced the release of this series... and wow do they look fantastic! On top of the upcoming Mimi-Series, and unannounced to alot of people is a really cool exclusive 3 pack dubbed "2 Turntables & a Microphone" that features just that... 3” tall, two vinyl Mr. Spins and a Mr. MC in a red and gold paint variant. These Bent World Beats feature articulating arms and premium window box packaging. Set to release August 25 for $29.95!

The "Bent World Beats" mini-figure line is way better than I anticipated them to be, and the fact that it features 19 new characters including Mr. Spins, Da Jam, Taps, Boomer and Plugged... where comes in two versions “Studio” that are nice and clean and a “Tour” which are broken and battered... very similar to MAD's "Bent World Vandal" series where there were clean/dirty versions! Although, the OG illustrations in the top photo feature other characters like the Harmonica, Sax, and VIP Pass, not shown in 3D form now... but that's not to say these aren't going to show up as chase figures, who knows :-) I really enjoyed the last series and I have a feeling that this one in particular will appeal to a much broader audience... I mean everyone has some type of draw to music :-) Look for these to drop August 25 for $9.95 a pop!

Keithing's custom "Captain America" Popbot

Keithing has been on a roll lately with the customization of ThreeA figures and just last night he posted up via his twitter account a seriously cool customized 'Popbot' figure in some patriotic colors to resemble Marvel's own "Captain America" figure. There is no word on a release date or a price for this custom, but Keithing states that it will drop very soon! Keep those eyes peeled for drop info!

O-No Sashimi "Redfish in Coconut" SGTCC exclusive

Oh wow... this is going to be one sought after figure! Andrew Bell just announced an exclusive colorway of his recently released O-No Sashimi figure and this particular version is just for STGCC aka the Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention which is going down on August 20-21, 2011!

This versions is based off of the colors and iconography of the Singaporean flag and it will be limited to only 150 pieces, each will retail for 50SGD or about $41... and according to Andrew, due to the small run they will not have additional sets available online, so time to get your mule on! I really like this versions and the fact that the tail of the fish is sitting in coconut milk is seriously awesome... and super clean looking!
