"Cloudy Days" customs by J.C. Rivera

Another week is here and it seems as though artist J.C. Rivera is one busy dude as he just sent over a whole slew of customs that he recently finished up... and just like all his work, they look amazing! These 4 customs are part of a series he is calling "Cloudy Days" where he goes on to mention "Everybody has some cloudy days right? These creatures are cloudy all the time. They are so sad but still have some sense of humor." One thing that always grabs me about JC's customs is the continuity... they all look/work so well together because of the subject matter and color pallet... stunning work! If interested in these, JC is putting these in his online store HERE on Friday, August 12th at 9:30am CST... oh and as an added bonus, you can get a 20% off coupon by using the code CloudyFriday for anything in the store until Monday, August 15th at 8:30am CST... some sweet deals to be had on some cool customs!

Skinner x Siccaluna x Lulubell - Ultrus Bog Test Shots

So check out what Luke Rook of Lulubell Toys recently posted up via his Twitter account... a sick picture showing off a ton of Skinner's "Ultrus Bog" figures in test shot form. Usually 'Test Shot' means the factory uses any vinyl on hand to pour into the mold so that they can see what the figure looks like, and if any modifications are needed they are made and then another is poured until the figure looks correct. All of that being said, man does this picture make me salivate seeing all those rad figures in a row in all kinds of different colored vinyl... I especially am diggin that clear smoked colored version in front and hopefully they make a version just like that for public consumption!

Custom 'Doppelgangers' by Donta Santistevan

Artist Donta Santistevan is an illustrator living in San Francisco who decided one day to take a stab at making some customs. He tells us that "While it's not my normal medium, I've recently been tinkering around with customizing vinyl figures. Being so close to Kidrobot I am able to see some of the amazing work out there." It looks like he took that inspiration to heart, and in turn took some paint to a few sets of Doppelgangers... which have a really fun feel to them. For more illustrations and customs from Donta, hit up his website HERE.

"Toy Romance" customs from ValleyDweller

Artist Jeremy D. aka ValleyDweller just completed a whole bunch of new customs, and decided to pose them together... in somewhat of a romantic setting thanks to the "Toy Romance" thread over on the SkullBrain forum which is a really fun thread where collectors and artists alike put up photos of toys in lovely situations :-) According to Jeremy, all the customs above have little bits and pieces that are GID, and I personally love that Honoo/RoseVampire set... they look killer man! Progress Shots of eldercut's BUCUR Figure

This new figure comes to us courtesy of the Romanian based group eldercut, and from the progress pics it's looking good! It looks to be made of resin and has a lot of articulation as well. This would make a pretty cool DIY piece and I can't wait to see more. Check out their behance site or their blog for updates and more awesome toys and customs!
