This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
So do you wanna know what an art gallery looks like that is made up of truly epic proportions?!? Well Hurley opened up such an art space for artists to really go all out on in installation mural form some years ago! Most recently, James Marshall aka Dalek the curator of the space, asked Bwana Spoons, Justin "Scrappers" Morrison, Martin Ontiveros, and Skinner to go to town on this enormous space... and that is exactly what this motley crew has been doing for the last 5 days, painting and creating for this show titled "AWESOME"!
This space is GIGANTIC... in fact it's 30' tall by 260' around... and all these guys have been working 15+ hour days and nights to put paint on every square inch of the gallery... and trust me when you enter you will have your socks knocked off with the amount of bright colors, geometric shapes, clean lines, neon colored beasts, fishermen, surfers, bats, turtles, bears, waves, wings, totems, walled cities and not to mention the center piece... a giant wooden volcano skate ramp! This show is going to open this Saturday June 11, 2011 from 6pm-9pm... so if you are in the San Diego/Los Angeles area you best come out for the event... it's going to be AWESOME, just like the title of the show!

SpankyStokes.com was the first to reveal HERE a few of the upcoming Swatch x Kidrobot designer Watch/Dunny combos earlier this year... and now it appears that the folks over at Vannen Designer Watches did some recent internet digging and found some revealing photos buried deep within a Russian based watch site that shows off the entire set, and EPIC carrying case that this set is going to come in! Now the photos are popping up all over the internet and well... we want a piece of the action too, so we did some digging ourselves and found said photos and were able to get them in uber high-res along with more pictures of the case!
This designer toy and watch combo is going to feature artist designed watches, come with a 3" Dunny counterpart. The artist lineup includes Gary Baseman, Tara McPherson, Tilt, Joe Ledbetter, Jeremyville, SSUR, MAD and Frank Kozik... the cool thing is that the artists designed the Dunnys and watches to be a unit so they all match up pretty well. There is speculation that these might be really limited, but they may also be an open run. There is also no price point set, but rumor has it that the each figure/watch set will retail for $75, giving collectors something to wear and something to display... but what about that giant case of love above... do note that the 20" Kozik Dunny may only be available as a set purchase, and that there may be other Watch/Dunny combos not pictured above :-) More on that soon!

Coming off his hot sellout release of his custom Android blind box series, DrilOne has teamed up once again with the great folks over at Dragatomi to release yet another blind box series... but instead of just one particular figure, Dril customized a whole slew of different figures from Dunny's to Scavengers, Mechtorians to Vivisect Playset this series has a little taste of everything, plus it appears that Dril has taken on a fondness to animals in this series :-) These are set to drop next Wednesday, June 15th 2011 at 12pm PST via the Dragatomi website HERE... and if the last release was any indication of how fast these will sell out, you better get that trigger finger ready!
Seeing as the Toy Art Gallery 'Resin Toy Juried Show' is launching tomorrow June 10, 2011 and runs until July 1st, I figured why not post up some more submissions! We gave you a look at some of the same figures in our first preview HERE, but this is a much more updated grid of characters... and wow there are so many great pieces! Jeremy Dale aka Valley Dweller has recently finished up a new custom on Rotobox's 'Fahrenheit' figure platform... and it seemed only fitting to take a picture with his custom Celsius that he created for our contest that we ran HERE almost a year ago which was inspired by tabletop wargames, the other by video games. The Celsius for our contest was created with acrylic paints, balsa sword, the gun is Warhammer 40,000 artillery piece held on w/ magnets, and the characters named for "Eldar Swooping Hawk Phoenix Lord Baharroth" from 40k. Now the new Fahrenheit was a commissioned piece honoring "Raziel" from the Soul Reaver (Legacy of Kain) video game franchise. It's a custom OG Debametall Fahrenheit (edition of 300 is now 299, collectors take note) from Kuso Vinyl created by Rotobox, and was created using Magic-Sculpt and acrylic over vinyl... pretty slick work!
Today is a good day, especially if your name is Ryan Crippen aka Reactor-88 as he has just been graced with the title of Kidrobot's "King of the Boards" award which is up on the KRonikle right now... and just like the previous nominations for this award, Ryan is so deserving of this title. He has been a stanch supporter of the scene and makes some seriously awesome customs... I mean, his totem style is immediately recognized amongst the entire scene! In honor of this award, KR did an interview with him, and they are also giving away a special customized 4" Mini-Munny that Ryan created. All you need to do is email wheelbarrow@kidrobot.com with picture of your favorite custom MUNNY of all time by 5pm EST next Thursday, June 16 to enter in the random drawing. Please title your entry email Reactor88 MUNNY. Head on over HERE now to read the interview, and congrats goes out once again to Ryan, so rad!
Coming very soon is an awesome collaboration between artist Owen DeWitt aka Grimsheep and Las Vegas based toy company Happy Panda Toys as they plan on releasing what appears to be a new figure line designed by Owen which from the flyer above seems like it will feature some of his rad animal like characters... details are very scarce on this still, but they did say they are shooting for a fall 2011 release.
Here we go... another week, and another awesome custom by UK artist Squink!, and this go around it's on Kidrobot's new Munnyworld figure Kracka who is depicted as a hippo named "Charlie" who has a tiny little bird friend named "Ren" who are best friends for eternity... and from the looks of it, Ren is not looking so hot :-) This custom is set to drop on Thursday, June 9th 2011, at 1pm PST for $150 via Squink's online store HERE... and just like all his releases this will sell out FAST, so get all your ducks in a row, and good luck!
