Inside Scoop: Real Steel toys coming from 3A

Photobucket
Just got some hot news, if your a toy collector and love robots then I'm sure the latest previews for the upcoming movie Real Steel by Dreamworks and Touchstone pictures, have you thinking two things, 1) Man those bots look sweet and 2) I hope they get made into toys. Now as someone that's a robot collector with a love of 3A I myself couldn't help but think another thought every time I've seen the trailers for this move, "Man I wish 3A could make those sweet boxing robots" and so when I had a chance to ask Ashley Wood today via twitter about the movie he gave us a glimmer of hope saying

"I imagine 3A would make great ones... maybe you wont have to" Ashley later followed up by replying "yes, we are making 1/6th high end robot figures for Real steal !" "been working on them for a while, complicated stuff... 3A for the win !"

No word on what we will see for the bots from the film or when they will be released but I'm sure we will hear more as the months go on. Stay tuned for more info as we get it, and for those interested in movie please be sure to check out Real Steel's trailer here. For more history and a look at some of the robots from the film be sure to check out WRB (World Robot Boxing)

3 custom "Chuckboy" Dunny's from Red Mutuca Studios

All 3 of the creatives over at Red Mutuca Studios in Brazil including - Sergio Mancini, Luihz Unreal and Igor Ventura - were all commissioned from a private collector to make their visions of the Chuckboy 3" Dunny that has been wildly popular amongst customizers! From Igor's "Cyber pirate", Luihz's "Raccoonator", and Sergio's "Sketchborg" all three of these customs turned out amazing... and have me wondering what can't these designeres do, their work is flawless, and on such a small platform to be able to pull off that amount of detail is beyond me... sick work guys!

"Inkhead" by Steph Cop x Bonustoyz

Recently featured by French porcelain company K.Olin Tribu artist Steph. Cop continues in his traditional blocky design by teaming up with Artoyz and Bonustoyz to release a new figure called "Inkhead". This character just screams French design to me, as do most releases from the Artoyz company... but this is not a bad thing as they really brand themselves in the unique style of art that they continue to produce. Standing at over 11" tall the figure, coming in 3 distinct colors (pink, purple, black) with multiple points of articulation, is set to release on Thursday, June 16th for an undisclosed price at the moment.

What we do know is that these 3 colors are limited to just 139 pieces and what you can see from the top photo is the inclusion inside the head of this figure is a spot to hold a Molotow marker... pretty slick... even though you prob should not use the marker while in the toy as it may get a little messy :-) This throw-back style is really nice, and should be a big hit amongst vinyl collectors worldwide!
