Teasers for upcoming projects from the Beast Brothers and Amanda Visell for Secret Fresh in Manilla!
So what the heck does Secret Fresh in Manilla have up their sleeves, and honestly these teasers are just that, teasers as they don't reveal much of anything other than the fact that they are teaming up with the Beast Brothers and Amanda Visell on some projects. The above date of July 1st, 2011 might just be the reveal of the projects, or it might be the release... we don;t really know, but what we do know is that posted up on the Fresh Facebook page HERE was a little text about the Visell piece "the largest Vissel toy on production... made of wood:)"... pretty exciting news for Visell fans... but what's up with the BB teaser now??!?!?!

Bromance charity art show... is far from "gay"!
Artifact Gallery in San Francisco is set to launch an awesome art show that is curated by the toy maven himself Jeremy Brautman. The show is titled "Bromance" pokes fun at the paradox behind expressions like, "Dude, that's gay." From shopping for clothes to playing sports with the bros, we take pride in our appearance and enjoy the company of other men. Are you mocked because you're that luddite printing zines or that environmentalist going green? We like that you've got things to say and the accompanying balls to say them.
Opening on June 25th and closing July 17th... join Bay Area artists Frank Kozik, Yosiell Lorenzo, Justin Lovato, Jay Howell, Jesse Balmer and Gabe Boscana in conjunction with their Portland brothers Martin Ontiveros, Le Merde, Jon Knox, Ryan Berkley and Bwana Spoons for a real San Francisco-style love-in. All artwork in the “Bromance” art show is being auctioned off by Artifact Gallery (bid HERE on June 23rd) where they will be donating ten percent of all proceeds generated from "Bromance" to The Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to ending suicide by LGBTQ youth.

RAMPAGE TOYS "Ugly Unicorn" teaser #3
As a followup to the past few weeks posts HERE and HERE about Jon from Rampage Toys upcoming vinyl toy release, we have a new 'full body' shot of the proto sculpt showing off everything except for the face! This is Rampage Toys "Ugly Unicorn" figure, and he stands around 5" tall, is articulated at the waist and is full of fur :-) The attached shots were taken just prior to the last wet sanding and primer coat. Jon says that he is really aiming for a 'traditional' look to this sculpt - similar to feel of the original Bullmark figures - a little bit chunky and strange in proportion - but still retaining the style and feel of a 'cleaner' more modern kaiju design. Should be pretty awesome, next step is clean up and we should be seeing a final proto very soon... what are all your thoughts on this figure?

"Ready for Bedtime" custom by Kevin Gosselin
Are you heading out to the Urban Decay 2 show starting tonight, Saturday, June 4th 2011, Lorton, VA... well if you hadn't planned on it, maybe this post will change you mind! We posted the grip of works that will be on display from Rsin HERE and today we are featuring the amazing artistic and sculptural skills of Kevin Gosselin as he transformed another unassuming blank piece of white vinyl into a serious work of art! This piece is called "Ready for Bedtime" and Kevin states that "It's based loosely off a design I did nearly a couple years ago for a mimobot contest. I liked the color scheme and the goofy smile so it's been back in my mind as a concept for a Munny." Yup... you read it right... a Munny that Kevin added leg extensions and ears to making this once 7" tall figure now a whopping 14" tall. This is a one-of-a kind piece and it will be showing and available for purchase all month long in Urban Decay 2. Seriously spectacular work Kevin, and if you are in or around the area make it a point to swing by to see this piece as well as many others in person at this show!

Gary Ham's "Hermees" is back in the all new 'Trickster' Edition
Well look who decided to fly in for a repeat appearance, the awesome vinyl figure from Gary Ham named Hermes, and this time around he is sporting an all new paint job sure to make those ghouls and ghost squeal on Halloween! Wait a sec... Halloween, yeah I know right, it's only June and we are getting the "Trickster" edition?!?! Seems as though that hot Arizona sun is getting to Gary but nonetheless, less this awesome 8" tall 12" wide figure has an impressive 8 points of articulation in the head, snout, wings, hands, and feet... not to mention a really cool wood grain effect on the figure itself as it was produced from one of Gary's original hand-crafted wooden masterpieces. This black/orange/turquoise "Trickster" edition is limited to only 200 pieces and just like the previously released version it's only $45... a steal!!!!! Look for this version in most all vinyl retail shops in the very near future, or you can just buy it directly from Gary via his shop HERE!
