Kaws x Karimoku - Wood Companion
Some people say resin is the new vinyl... well Kaws would tend to disagree as he teamed up with legendary furniture maker Karimoku to release an all wooden 12" KAWS Companion! This dropped on May 28th, via a lottery style fashion, and at only 100 signed and numbered pieces, even with a $3,000 price tag, sold out! Crazy what a name with a little history can get you.
Igor Ventura's "BadL-uck" custom MAD*L
Check out the most recent custom from artist Igor Ventura of Red Mutuca Studios in Brazil as he just sent over a new custom he completed for a private collector. It's a 5" MAD*L called "BadL-uck", and as you can see this detailed piece was inspired by a slot machine. According to Igor "The concept behind it is the similarities between a blind box and a slot machine: there's an element of surprise, as you know what the grand prize is, but never know for sure what you'll get... not to mention both of them are pretty addictive!" I really dig the concept of this, and Igor really utilized the shape of this already cool figure and turned it into an amazing custom... now he needs to create one that actually works :-)

Upcoming products revealed in Paul Budnitz interview... Triclops, Beast Brothers and more!
Posted up via Kidrobot founder Paul Budnitz's website is a revealing image that was shot for a cool interview that INC. MAGAZINE did with Paul. In the article Paul talks about the business side of things from starting Kidrobot, to his new bicycle venture... which is neat and all, but that is not why we are here... lets talk toys. On that table are some interesting reveals... first up, on the right of the image is a new Kidrobot mascot designed by the Beast Brothers, which is based off their "Kidolaf" shirt design. Now to the left of that is a round orb looking Star Wars shaped figure... not quite sure on this one, any help *UPDATE* this has been brought to our attention that it is JK5's Droid Basketball project... thanks tipster :-)! To the left of this is a large leopard printed Kozik labbit... which seems to be flocked. Continuing to move left in the foreground is the new Dunny from the boys over at Triclops Studios which is also based on their recent t-shirt design dubbed "This is not a Dunny" or "Ceci n'est pas une Dunny" which we posted up a teaser for HERE. Now, onto that mystery all black Dunny in the back... not quite sure what this could be, but it appears to be wearing a beanie of sorts, have bright green eyes, and what looks like a matching tongue... now the only Dunny that we have seen with a tongue is MAD's design for the upcoming 3" Dunny 2011 series posted HERE... could this be an 8" version of said Dunny. Who knows... and until we have more info let the speculation begin. What are your thoughts on the above products... I would love to hear them!

*RECAP* Frank Msterio's "Juguetronic" solo show
This past weekend was the launch of Mexican artist Frank Mysterio's solo show titled "Juguetronic" that featured a whole slew of custom vinyl pieces from this super talented artist. One of the great things about Frank's work is the cohesiveness across the board... they can all have different color schemes, and styles, but something about his work really lends itself to one giant collection... and check out those pieces, over 70 pieces to be exact... beautiful. One of the main attractions was his custom giant Skuttle... standing at 16" tall, this beast was one of the first things to catch your eye when entering the gallery... and also to note, this is one of the first appearances we have seen Frank without his Lucha mask... so all has been revealed for this show :-) Great show Frank, and for more pics... visit his Flickr site HERE.
