Ajee's new "Kosplay" figure set

It's really been quite some time since we have seen any figures from French artist Ajee... in fact the last original figure was the super stylized "Skullskin" character. Well posted up on her site is some rough prototypes of an upcoming figure titled "Kosplay". This is a 2 character set, a girl un-dressed as a skull, and a polar bear disguised as a panda... it's interesting to read what is stated about the figures as she says "The panda is more endangered than the polar bear, maybe she did a makeup on him to protect him a little longer?"... pretty interesting concept. As you can see this figure has the same dramatic stylings as her "Skullskin" figure... the hard edges, blockiness, long exaggerated limbs... it's quite beautiful! The production for this figure is slated for 2011, and is going to be released in two different mediums, by two different companies. The fist being K.Olin Tribu where it will be produced in Limoges porcelain, and by ExtendedPlayZ where it will find its way into vinyl.

"Flake & Flames" a Kustom Kulture movie

While browsing the net I ran across this awesome new video coming out next year! It's a Kustom Kulture movie titled "Flake & Flames" and its going to feature interviews and looks into a ton of artists lives including Dirty Donny, COOP, The Pizz, Von Franco, Dan Collins, Bob Spina, Frank Kozik, Robert Kruse, Big P, and more. Right off the bat I recognized a ton of names for not only being sick artists, but for having a part in the designer vinyl scene as well! Watch the preview above and enjoy! "Magenta Morning" Garuru from Super7

Dropping tomorrow Friday, May 20th 2011, at 12noon PST via the Super7 online store HERE is the newest colorway of Itokin Park's Garuru figure, and this go around he is sporting a nice clean magenta vinyl with black, blue, gray, orange and gold sprays helping him earn the name the "Magenta Morning" Garuru. This don't let this little bugger slip away.

Spike! Custom Kidrobot Trikky by Squink

Get ready, get set, and go!!!!! At least that's the way most of Squink's customs end up selling once they go live in his online store, and I am guessing that this custom Trikky vinyl figure titled "Spike!" will not be any different... oh and yes that is a custom, even though it looks uber clean, almost production like!!!! Chauskoskis customs for Art Whino's G40 art show!

Today we have a few more great customs to showcase for the upcoming G40 Art Summit being hosted by Art Whino on Friday, May 20th 2011... and both of these fantastic pieces are from super sculptor Walter Jacott aka Chauskoskis! First up is a giant 10" custom Teddy Troop Walter created that he is calling "Voodoo Bear", and for obvious reasons :-) Walter sculpted over this entire piece adding a human face to the once before teddy under head and going to town on the hood part with a magnificent burly bear head...seriously cool!

For his next piece, Watler took inspiration from a figure he created as a custom PAW! Dunny... to make a long story short he created a small 3" Dunny PAW! and had such a huge response to cast them and make multiples, he decided to not do that as it may step on the toes of the original creators, Coarse Toys... so what did he do... he created what you see above titled "MUD"! This original sculpt still pays homage to the PAW! figure, but in Walters own style... and this bright green, monster from the black lagoon, looking figure stands a whopping 12" tall and will be up for grabs and on display at the G40 Art Summit! James G. Cooper's "BB" resin figure

It's interesting how the designer toy field works... or functions should I say... sometimes you don't hear about a figure, or an artist for that matter until the reveal of the figure, and that is totally the case with James G. Cooper as he just revealed to us a new resin toy titled "BB" which stands for Ballerina Bear. BB is a musical creature from James' world of characters known as, “The Light Bulbs”... more on that at a later date, but James tells us that the figure was conceptualized during the time of his wife’s pregnancy and is dedicated to his daughter LiBBy... see the BB in the name :-) This figure is part bear and part tree which was sculpted by Aiyana Udesen, and was cast by Motorbot's Dead Bear Studios. The first release will bee very limited... 15 pieces to be exact and will be the "Mono Marbled Resin" you see above. This 6" tall figure and will drop this Friday, May 20th 2011, at 12pm PST HERE for $45!

Hints & Spices launch party • First vinyl figure reveal

To celebrate the release of their forthcoming vinyl figure and the launch of his design studio, Shane Haddy of Hints & Spices will reveal to all exclusives, original toys, prints, customs, plush, prototypes and more on May 28th 2011! With all that being said there is also some more exciting news as Shane is sharing with us today some sculpts and wax prototypes of the first vinyl toy by Hints and Spices! This elephant/crocodile figure sits a little over 3" tall and was designed by Shane Haddy, with line work by TOVI and sculpted by a very talented Japanese sculptor, Makino-San of TTToys! It's a very interesting figure/shape to say the least, but I do look forward to following the progression of this! Mai Hiro Website Relaunch Today!

Mai Hiro is relaunching their official website with an all-new, all-spiffy design with new elements for further social interaction! They want you, the fans, to enjoy the Mai Hiro experience and want to keep you up-to-date with the happenings and offerings in Mai Hiro World. "What is Bü?" a new DIY figure Launch Party

So check this out... Stephanie and Rose of the Toronto-based independant clothing and accessory company called Crywolf has just gone through the process of designing and having their very first vinyl artist's toy manufactured. It is a blank DIY toy/art object simply called "Bü". What does this figure look like... not quite sure, but we can tell you that for the first release it will come in 3 colors... ocean, sky and cloud and it is approximately 3.5” wide and 4” tall. Most other details seem to be saved for the official release launch party and art themed showcase as Crywolf has carefully chosen a select group of 19 talented and eclectic, nationally and internationally recognized local artists to customize their very own Bü.

We have been showing teasers the past few weeks of Rich aka LASH of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore's latest colorway of his "Ollie" figure and today we are getting the full reveal along with all the pertinent release info! Painted up in a striking red/black color pallet, this Saturday marks the release of the "Red Demon" Ollie and MVH family... which will be available in 2 options...

The 2 options for this release are stated below:
1.) Store release: At 12:00 PM Eastern on 5/21/11 there will be the MVH Family pack which is limited to 5 sets. The sets will be for sale in the MVH store shop area. The set includes 1 Ollie, 1 Sludge Demon and 2 different Doji Sans ( 1 demon mask, 1 cyclops mask ), all painted in the " Red Demon" colorway. Harvey Birdman 40º custom Celsius by Chauskoskis
