"Red Demon" Ollie from Mutant Vinyl Hardcore

Revealed back in late April on Lash of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore's Flickr site HERE is the top teaser you see above on a brand spankin new colorway of his 'Ollie' figure he is calling the "Red Demon" edition... and just posted up this evening is the header card art for this release. According to the Lash, he states about this release: "To totally blow your mind there will be a limited red demon set that includes an Ollie,Sludgie and 2 Doji Sans all painted to match. The Doji set will be the last US resin release as the resin is now retired!" So what does all that mean... it means pure epicness on all levels... I sure hope I can get this one... love the red and black, might just be the best color combo out there! Look for it all to go down on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 and stay tuned for more details as the develop!

"Lesley" the deer-human figure from Denada

Upon scouring the net for some content to post, I stumbled upon a figure from German artist Denada titled "Lesley". Now the designs from Denada are no stranger to this site as we have posted his "Bronco & Blue Pecker" figures HERE before... but this time around "Lesley" is a little more unique to say the least :-) This figure standing at over 11" tall features a deer like body, with a humanoid head... except for the horns of course, and a little dangly part (NSFW) that if you hit the jump you can see in full effect. This figure, like the rest of his creations, are 100% hand-made and are made from polyurethane resin. He starts with a sculpt from clay, then made the silicone molds and casted the figures by a hand-rotocasting them... making the figures are hollow in the middle. This is a one-off and can be purchased HERE... so if you dig what you see, snag it up... and seeing as unique as this is it will be a bonus to any collection out there!

"Vtec" custom MAD*l by Phu!

Check out this amazing creation by Phu! as he took a 5" MAD*l and transformed it into a mech/robot of sorts... he even comes with one of Phu's custom 'Rebel Pilot' figures that sits inside the head, kinda like a cockpit... this is a really cool feature to this custom! One thinf to note about the majority of the customs that Phu creates is his ability to use found objects... in the case of this piece he used cable ties, gears, rivets, screws, and plastic pellets! Unfortunately if you like what you see it's already spoken for as it was a commission piece for a private collector, but you can always contact Phu via his website to have your own custom made!

Deadbear Studios "Black" Oustider's & Meathead's

Just posted up in the Deadbear Studios webstore HERE, and available for only a limited amount of time, is all black versions of Skinner's "Outsider" figure and Motorbot's "Meathead" mini! These are both hand-sculpted, cast, and painted by Motorbot... the Outsider has two points of articulation and stands 10" tall, where the Meathead is a solid figure standing at just 2" tall. "Baggage & Freedom" Scribe's solo show @ G1988

We just caught word of an upcoming solo show that Gallery1988: Melrose is going to be hosting in a few weeks featuring the works of Kansas City native artist D. Ross, better known as "Scribe". This show is going to be amazing... just from the past body of work that Scribe has produced, all that attend will be in for a treat! Know for his amazing graffiti, along with his comprehensive character design skills "Baggage & Freedom" will bring all of this under one roof... and the best part is that Scribe will be in attendance for the opening reception, which will feature some limited time installations from the artist in the gallery, on Thursday, May 26, from 7-10pm. If you in the LA area be sure to come out for this... it's going to be killer!

"Steampunk" Soopa Maria one-off

He had the idea after seeing Dok A's custom Soopa Coin-Up Brothers Arcade figure... and asked Erick if he could use a colorscheme that could mimic this aesthetic... the end result is what you see above and as you can see it turned out stunning! *RECAP* Cast In Plastic group custom show

Launched last Saturday, May 14, 2011 was the group art show titled "Cast In Plastic: Art From the Designer Toy Revolution" which was held at Domy Books in Houston Texas. Obviously, being from San Diego, I was not able to attend but our friends over at TheBlotSays were able to make it out and they took some rad video and photos showcasing the customs that were on display. "Cast In Plastic" featured Thirty-four hand-selected artists from around the globe that showcased thier talents on designer vinyl toys. The artists include: Abe Lincoln Jr., Ack!, Andrew R. PACO gets some color...

Springtime Muscamoot from Rotofugi x Ryniak

Alright... I'll go ahead and state what's on everyone's mind... it's about time we get another Muscamoot release. Great, now that we got it outta the way... check out what was just posted on the very dormant Lake Monsters blog, a beautiful Spring 2011 Big Muscamoot by Chris Ryniak and produced by Rotofugi! This flashy fellow sports a clean coat of pink vinyl with purple, orange, yellow and green paint hues. Oh... and the best part, this is going to be made available next Thursday, May 19th at Rotofugi.com... want to know when specifically, follow Rotofugi on Twitter HERE... and it will also be in their Chicago based store at 11am the same day! There is no word on price just yet, but if this follows their other release patterns it will probably be around $60 a pop!

Triclops Studio 8" Dunny teaser...

Rob and Luc of UK based Triclops Studio have recently teased us via their Twitter account with a very cryptic image of an upcoming release... and after a little squinting and speculation it appears to be an 8" Dunny design soon to be released from Kidrobot. What could the figure be, what could it look like... well one thing is certain if it's from Triclops Studio you know it's going to be a fun design as these guys tend to have some off the wall ideas... which is a good thing :-) Stay tuned for more news once it's revealed.

Cris Rose's "Mirrobots" dropping today

We gave you guys a sneak peek HERE a few weeks back of Cris Rose's "Mirrobots", which are laser cut acrylic mirrors in the shape of Cris' Sprog characters, with the first series being an open run of 6 detailed designs. they measure between 3.5" and 4" in size, and each Mirrorbot comes bagged/headered. These are dropping HERE today at 10am PST in two different option... you can buy them up individually for $12.50 a piece, or the full set of 6 for only $67.50!

Jason Limon x Inner Sanctum "Specimen No. 1"

With the launch of Inner Sanctum's brand new website comes some new pictures of their "Specimen Series" designed by artist Jason Limón. Originally posted HERE, this figure is based off one of Jason's highly detailed paintings, this figure has great potential to be one of the most sought after art toys of the year, and above is some great new shots of "Specimen No. 1" in it's natural habitat :-) This figure stands 7"-8" tall and will be produced in vinyl, with the wings being a clear pvc similar to the above painting... and yes that No.1 does mean something as there are a total of 6 figures in this series... all being produced by Inner Sanctum! Much more to come from this figure and company, so keep those eyes peeled.

Customized "HULK" spraycan by NemO

There is a certain talent that New York based artists NemO possesses... that's his raw sculpting talent, and it could be on any surface... he slays whatever crosses his path. Case in point, his latest commission piece he did for ToyQube, as he sculpted an epic HULK face on a rattle can. NemO states that he used magic sculpt to make the face and I am assuming acrylics to paint it up. This is not the fist can NemO has customized... for looks at other visit his site HERE!
