This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
Seeing as it's already Wednesday, and the upcoming 'Vinyl Roots' show at Dragatomi is launching this Saturday, May 14th 2011... it is only fitting that we start sharing with you previews of some of the work that will be on display and up for grabs this weekend. To kick things off, we have the series of work from artist Troy Stith as he took his customs on a journey through a series he is calling "The Wanderer".
This entire array of figures does not only showcase Troy's ability to sculpt on vinyl platforms, but he also took it upon himself to create sculptural pieces from scratch, all of which come from the made up world of Tu'R'Land! He has a whole slew of creations... named Dunnsai "Mikomi", Munnsai "Meiun", Dunnsai "Sentaku", Lucha Dentaduras "Screaming Twins", Sculpt Totems, and "The Caverns of Yandor"... all of these feature his signature bark like tree texture, tying them together in one epic series. For the complete story, along with more pictures, visit Troy's site HERE, and if you are in the Sacramento area this weekend make it a point to stop by to see all this fantastic work in person!

So who's ready for another fantastic contest... well the folks over at Toy2R USA are itching to give stuff away and have just announced their next giveaway contest to celebrate Qee's 10th Anniversary. Starting this Friday, Toy2R will present the Qee to Happiness contest on its Toy2R USA Facebook Page. Check it out if you're down with FREE toys... what will it entail, your going to have to wait and see, but you know its going to be epic!!!
The Munnyworld Megacontest over at Kidrobot has literally hundreds if not thousands of entries, and this one stands out above the crowd, and for good reason... it's amazing! Artist Kong Andri made "BUB-BOT" from a Bub base and was inspired by Three-A Toys. "He is a robot invented to protect the Munny World from thousands of aliens that wants to invade the land." That's no easy job!
We gave you guys the info about Keithing of ToyQube's new Sharky show titled "Getting BIG" that is going down on May 20th, 2011 at the Toy Tokyo Underground Gallery... well today we are getting a look at Jason Freeny's submission as he tackled this 36" tall fiberglass beast in in true anatomical fashion. When I first saw he was working on this I was really hoping that he would do the 3D 1/4 cutaway sculpting on it, but could only image the work that would have to be put into this... the end result of just painted on organs is pretty slick nonetheless, and I just love how he put a human hand skeleton in the belly region :-)... great job Jason! Tons more artists are involved, so stay tuned for more reveals.
Well last we we posted up HERE the reveal of Frank Kozik's first 2 colorways of his "Mekkabanana" or "MechaNana" as the previous true bronze version was called, and today we are getting a look at the faux bronze, vinyl version of this giant 16" piece of un-edible fruit. As you can see from the picture, Frank had the right color in mind as he used the precise Pantone color calibration to get the exact color... and it's spot on. So far this is my favorite colorway as it shows off the details the best. What's next... blue, yellow, purple, black... probably all of the above :-)
