Charlie Owens, ever since the first post covering him HERE back in 2008 I have been in constant amazement of his gritty style and Art Whino is please to be playing host to this fantastic artist as they open "Don't Get Caught"! This show, according to Charlie, is a throwback to those youthful days when he was first introduced to the world of skateboarding and the visual art that went along with it.

timselF, as he shares with us his "Popcorn Machine" custom 3'' Dunny. According to Tim this was a little present for his buddy Manny (KR-forum name mANNEe) and his girlfriend as she loves popcorn... and who wouldn't love popcorn after seeing this. It's a super creative spin on a few Dunny designs wrapped up into one sweet package... stellar job man!
Erick Scarecrow has found a new home in the Hawaiian islands, and wow does this colorway complement the already elegant sculpt. Painted with that rich "sky Tiffany's" blue, bounced off with a nice neutral punch of black and accented with a clam pearly silver. The collector of this beauty has got to be one happy dude. Huge thanks to HaynMade for the pics and info for this post!
Surropa.com, Ritzy Periwinkle designed 5 different t-shirts in both men's and women's cuts as part of a new t-shirt line called "Dale Duro" which roughly translated means "A way of Life, go hard or go home". Ritzy draws inspiration from her heritage with some strking designs, all of which are available HERE to purchase right now... I am peeping on that "LA CALAVERA" skull shirt... seriously dope! Support Ritzy, and go grab up a few!
DMS is taking on a new platform with a recently completed comission BUD in Carbonite for a private collector! I am seriously diggin on this style and it appears that others are too :-) Keep your eyes peeled in DMS's online store HERE for the next figure in line as DMS is going to do a small run of 3" Dunnys in Carbonite.
Kidrobot is a new blind-box series that features the designs from Hong Kong toy designer Jason Siu. Known primarily for his customization of 1:6 style figures, and other larger versions of this speaker character, Kidrobot has shrunk these down and is set to release the series dubbed "SPK 2" which is a 3" mini-series. There are going to be 12 colorful styles/designs of his speaker family which include all kinds of shapes and sizes, colors and finishes... it's really cool to see these being made and in my opinion kinda a breath of fresh air from the normal humanoid type figure we see in most blind boxed series'. These are going to release next Thursday, May 19th for $7.95 per blind box. I would love to know your thoughts on these.
Cookies-N-Cream will be dropping some more Sucklord "Dumnys"... and in super limited quantities, in fact they will only have 7 figures in total – 5 Toy Street Exclusive Dumnys, 1 Toy Lords of Chinatown Dumny, and 1 Cookies-N-Cream x Sucklord Dumny (also featured in the Toy Lords of Chinatown). These are all priced at $60 each and guaranteed to sell out quick so don’t sleep!
Jeff Lamm's newest figures "M5 BRAVO" & "STEE-GAR" in an eye popping "electric lemon" colorway! According to Unbox Industries, the preorder begins this week, and this set is going to retail for $125.00 which includes courier post... pretty smokin deal if you ask me, as it works out to about $60 per figure. These guys are pretty large as well... both standing about as tall as Jeff's Greasebat figure (click HERE to see size comparison). All the exact details like time and location are still TBD, but I will post up info once it rolls in!
Jay222, he is constantly creating art not just to sell, but he does it out of the kindness of his heart... case in point... he created these hand-made figures for artist Skinner, and Skinner's right hand man Hal "The Wizard"... and I gotta say these figures are too cool and represent these guys very well. I love how Jay sculpted the lip rings into Hal's figure as well as the open denim vest of Skinner where he is letting his birds nest fly! What a great job, and an even greater gift... good stuff Jay! For more pics, visit Jay's site HERE.
Cris Rose we have more non-toy/toy related news to share with you. If you are a fan of Cris' resin bots that he has created and want to add yet another piece of bot goodness to your collection... you're in luck, as he has branched out and started making items that server a function... and look good at the same time... introducing 'Mirrobots'! This is a range of laser cut acrylic mirrors in the shape of Cris' Sprog characters, with the first series being an open run of 6 detailed designs. they measure between 3.5" and 4" in size, and each Mirrorbot comes bagged/headered. Even though pricing is still being worked out, Cris believes they will retail for around $12 each or $30 for a pack of 3 at crisrose.bigcartel.com... stay tuned for exact dates, times, and prices! It's really fun to see designers branching out and expanding their line of collectibles, making it great for collectors of said artist, and also introducing others to a brand new market.
Lunabee has just revealed her brand new line of products... which in fact are a new designer line of Lunabee Jewelery. The designs she created were laser cut from wood and pink acrylic... and I just gotta say they look fantastic... especially the wood skull, love it! These will initially be for sale as necklaces and brooches, with a possibility of earrings and bracelets in the future. These pieces, along with other goodies, will be hitting the Lunabee store HERE at 6pm London time this Wednesday, May 11th. This run is super limited in nature so if you are diggin on them... pull the trigger at the above time! Great work Sarah... and I look forward to seeing more products in this same vein!
Hey Cavey Birthday Party' which is on May 26th from 7-10pm at Fleet River Bakery, Holborn, WC2A 3JF, London, United Kingdom! Today we get a peek at a super unique design by UK based artists Cris Rose as he brings his "bot-ness" to the table... and as you can see from Cris' illustration on the left, and then the rendition to 3D plush'ish form on the right, which is done by the help of Holly aka A Little Stranger, this Cavey is looking really promising! Along with the above design there will be others from notables such as feature one-off custom Cavey's designed by notable artists such as: Jon Burgerman, Sneaky Raccoon, Jam Factory, Joe Napper, Lunabee, Jon Paul Kaiser, Triclops Studios, Doktor A., Matt "Lunartik" JOnes, Peskimo and Phil Corbett! As with all the custom Caveys, Cris' design will be for sale on eBay in the week leading up to the Party, with the auction finishing at the event itself!
