10th Anniversary Super7 Lucky Bag teaser
This Lucky Bag business is no joke... think about it as buying a really expensive blind-box, and that box is filled with rare, handpainted, samples, one-offs, awesome figures... yup you read it right, figures, plural as this year Super7 is pulling out all the stops for their 10th anniversary and promise that this Saturday, May 14th, will be a time to remember. There will be 7 figures per bag and they will retail for $275 each... kinda crazy buying blind like that but these are going to sell out in the blink of an eye, so get that f5 key ready, this is going to be a doozie of a release!

"King Jinx" resin from Paul Kaiju
It's really not very often where an artist will continue to release figures that are hit after hit, some may be really cool, and others... not so much, but that's not the case with artist Paul Kaiju as he continues to amaze me with all of his characters, and the fact that this man is sculpting, casting, and painting these all by himself is beyond me... a true artist indeed. His latest figure titled "King Jinx", Paul states was based off a Kaiju TV show concept he and a friend dreamt up in the early 80′s... and this was no easy task as it is a 7 part figure with 3 points of articulation, and Paul also mentions that these will soon be gracing his online store very soon! I love this crustacean figure, and can only imagine what Paul is going to do with them, paint wise, other that what we see above. Stay tuned for more updates and until then... visit his site HERE more more pics and info!

"Rainforest Jura" by Sam Griffiths
About a month back now we posted up the first reveal of artist Sam Griffiths epic resin figure named "JURA" from Planet Domu... and at that time we had just seen the blank/DIY form of this cool figure... well today we are pleased to bring you the first painted version dubbed "Rainforest Jura". This version is a a one-off piece, painted for the upcoming 'Resin Toy Juried Show' at Toy Art Gallery which opens on June 10th. According to Sam, also included with this version will be two other one-of-a-kind pieces in different color schemes... with the next being "Ocean Jura". The fact that this figure stands only 5" tall, and has that amount on articulation and detail for a resin figure still blows me away, and seeing it painted up is seriously killer! For more on the history of Jura click HERE, and to read up on the backstory of "Rainforest Jura" be sure to hit the jump for a complete run down!
Rainforest Jura Back Story:
"Jura units were originally shuttled down to the surface of Planet Domu in order to sift through the ruins of bombarded villages, taking prisoners. Due to the turbulent journey and rocky landings, it is not uncommon for units to experience damaged circuitry. Rainforest Jura's programming has almost completely reversed. He now spends his days wandering the scorched villages and jungles of Planet Domu, doing his best to rebuild its structures and make friends with its inhabitants."
"Due to his lack of knowledge concerning local architecture and indigenous species, his efforts are more often than not misunderstood. Rebuilding structures in completely useless configurations and upsetting the wildlife. The sentient beings of Planet Domu have come to realise that he is doing his best to help and regard him as a harmless, if slightly irritating, part of living through a time of unrest. A far more preferable situation than it would have been, had his original programming remained intact!"

"Dunny Invasion" custom by Bowo Baghaskara
Check out this creative custom Dunny design from Bowo Baghaskara dubbed "Dunny Invasion"! On of the neat things about this is the concept, and the execution of this custom... I dig how a clear acrylic pole was used to suspend the cloud in the sky and how the city/figure are in proportion to one another, really making for a great visual... rad! For more pictures visit his site HERE.

Plaseebo's customs for the GUUMON Show at FOE
Bob Conge of Plaseebo is one busy dude, doing collabs with artists, on what seems to be a weekly basis, and creating figures for shows all the time. Recently he was invited to build an Ultra limited custom edition of Brian Mahoney's "Diagomi" figure for the GUUMON Group Show at the FOE Gallery in Northampton, Massachusetts... and above is the result. Each 8.5" inch high clear vinyl piece in the edition is hand painted to allow see thru areas on the body/head to reveal all sorts of colorful alien guts that are illuminated by a Plaseebo patented color changing LED unit inside the body. These are really cool figures to begin with, and Bob just elevated them to Uber cool! The show opens Friday May 13th, so be sure to check it out in person if your around!

Custom "Seeker" by JCRivera
It wasn't but a few weeks ago when we posted up HERE JCRivera's "Pirates of the Mercy Sea" and he just completed another amazing custom... this time it was on Jeff Soto's "The Seeker" figure... and wow did it turn out fantastic! JC states "I was really excited to do this one because Jeff Soto is one of my favorite artists and The Seeker is such a cool figure and so big. Because of it's height I wanted to make the seeker look gentle and friendly in my way like a really good funny friend!"... and he did a seriously great job with this by adding two of his characters that he calls "Orssons" which JC explains in Latin means "bear". From the subtle added textures and muted organic paint pallet, JC really did a great job transforming this figure and making it his own! Oh, and did we mention this figure is up for grabs right now HERE via JC's online store... go snag it up before it's gone!

Dragatomi "Toy Mural" by TaskOne
If you have been following the twitter feed of artists TaskOne, you have seen many WIP shots of this awesome mural that he painted on the side of Dragatomi's storefront in Sacramento... well it's now completed and Task, with the help of heysus (Andrew Susich), took a ton of photos piecing this massive mural together. Look at all of those awesome figures represented... and I am stoked to have our "Stroll" figure up there in the mix with all these other notables! The photo had to be done this way because it's in an alley way with another massive wall only 4 feet away from this. Task is going to go in and clean this beast up in Photoshop, so be on the lookout for the finished photo soon! Great work man, and I look forward to the finished/final retouched photo!
