Vannen X Godmachine - "Tempus" XL designer watch

Last we saw of this was the packaging teaser and now today we are getting the full reveal of Vannen designer watches "Tempus" timepiece created by the UK's own Godmachine. With every release that Vannen drops I am continually impressed with the overall look and feel of not only the watch, but the packaging as well... and this one strikes a certain chord in me that others have not! Call me sick, twisted, or whatever you like... I did the bones, skulls, guts and pretty much everything Godmachine creates so this watch totally tickles my fancy.

Titled "Tempus" this features original art designed by Godmachine specifically for the watch and has enough guts and bones to make the squeamish more squeamish :-) another cool aspect to the design is the crystal printed in clear matte ink with Godmachine's own iconography. "Tempus" is limited to 150 pieces and is set to retail tomorrow, May 5th via the Vannen online store HERE for $85 each. Also to mention... 10 of these watches (chases if you will) have been marked with a special silver ink overlay on the crystal... will you be the lucky one?

Gabriels' "New Toys for Melancholics" @ Toy Art Gallery May 6th

Toy Art Gallery is proud to present "New Toys for Melancholics", a solo show by Pop Surrealist sculptor and philosopher GABRIELS. Polished hand-crafted bronze, life-like glass eyes, and scores of tiny internal intricate elements and organs are just the beginning as you delve into GABRIELS embryonic sculptures. "New Toys for Melancholics” opens at 7pm on May 6th with Paolo Gabrielli in attendance. Show runs until April 30th. Click the jump for some more pics, but I had to choose from a bunch and it wasn't easy, so check out more pics on Gabriels' site here!

From the Artist: “Let it be clear: these are not sculptures, but toys and more precisely prototypes of Toys for Melancholics. They aspire to the industrial production on a large scale and to the indefinite propagation, in proportion to the planetary diffusion of the anguishastic-desperative Weltanschauung and of the consequent – very legitimate, although not absolutely incontrovertible – propensity to suicideness. In this sense, our Toys for Melancholics scrupulously respect all the standards of global melancholy quality in a petrified primeval landscape, addressing courageously to a public of adults, kiddies and lithopaedia.”

Fear not, it's available NOW through LIFT, so head on over and increase your debt to the government a little more.

From the Artist: "Surrounded by his hard partying Rabbit friends he constantly struggles between behaving and living a wild, hedonistic lifestyle. Hedonism usually wins."
