Arts Unknown - "Slugilicious" by Gary Baseman

Hot off the announcement and reveal of Frank Kozik's "William, Henry & Reginald" figures, Arts Unknown dropped the reveal of one slippery looking, pill popping, slug designed by Gary Baseman named "Slugilicious". Standing at a large 8" tall and ready for a release of 3rd Quarter 2011, this silly looking slug will try to creep his way into your medicine cabinet just for that temporary fix. According to Gary, the story of Slugilicious goes: "Out from the shallow damp earth, comes the slithering Slugilicious. He takes his time, rushing for no one. Even if he looks like he is standing still, he is definitely tripping. Some people call him a homeless vermin. Some others call him a lazy hippie. Some people call him a space cowboy. Some call him the gangster of love. No matter where Sluggy goes, he always leaves his mark. The sidewalk is his canvas. He is the Lewis and Clark of the Mucus Trails." Just like the Kozik release, there will be a chase version of "Slugilicious", and if you want to get your hands on the exclusive Members’ Edition colorway you’ll need to go to www.artsunknown.com and register your interest in the Arts Unknown Membership Program, which will be officially opening within the next few weeks. There are only a limited number of places remaining though.

Coarse Toys "Casting Shadows" vinyl figure set

Spotted first at last years Glimpse of Truth exhibition as a two-piece resin set, Coarse Toys is proud to finally announce the release of "Casting Shadows", but instead of resin... this two-piece is now vinyl! It is amazing to see the progression of the art that Coarse produces... all are unique in their own way, yet still share the same common bond between their catalog of work. This set is limited to 200 pieces and is going to retail for $320. They will be available on May 2 at 7:59pm PST. One of the unique things about this set is the packaging... and as you can see above in the animation, the box splits in half sliding open to reveal both "Noop" and "Nism" figures. The two vinyl figures stand 4" tall and 7" tall and come with a really cool fabric Paw! kite... which extends to 14" tall! Amazing work as always and its great to see Coarse continually push the boundaries of art toys aw we know it!
