This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
If you have been on Twitter for the past few months and have been following DrilOne, you have probably seen all the work in progress shots of this amazing custom piece... well today we are getting the first look at the complete piece and I gotta say right off the bat that this may be my favorite custom done by Dril to date! This Pinocchio figure stands about 10" tall and Jiminy Cricket stands about 3" tall... where each one was meticulously crafted in the rusted/grunge look that Dril has been perfecting for years now! This commission piece features wood, brass, rope, spraypaint, acrylic, and other materials... and I love the result! One of the best parts about it is the wood paneling on the arms and legs... seriously cool. For more pictures hit up Dril's flickr HERE, and take a quick minute to read about the history of this figure.
The story of how Pinocchio came to be: "This is a set created in 1939 in Nuremberg, Germany. Die Bohrmaschine was the manufacturer of the German Pinocchio (Deutsche Pinocchio) toy. The history behind why he is painted in military style is unknown. The Deutsche Pinocchio was found in a abandoned barn in Osh Kosh, Nebraska. How it got there is still a mystery."
Brought to my attention by Jesse aka @Gimedos, is this awesome looking documentary about a man named Mark Hogancamp who was viciously attacked, and was left brain-damaged and broke... seeks recovery in "Marwencol", a 1/6th scale World War II-era town he creates in his backyard. From just watching the short trailer it looks very intriguing, and for all you 1/6th scale buffs out there this is a must!
Posted up earlier this month was a sneak peek at Mo Abedin's MEGA 2.0 DIY and today we are getting a glimpse at the before mentioned "Urban Child" version! AS you can see this particular iteration of MEGA comes with a hat, backpack and headphones... super stylized on all fronts I might add! We have still yet to see the "Pixielicious" version, but I am sure in a few weeks that will be revealed to us! Keep in mind for this version, just like the first, the ears and the back rocket (bag) are interchangeable so you can always change back to the original form or swap in other accessories. Look for more info soon and a release date of only a few months away!
