Launching tomorrow, Friday, March 25th 2011, at
Zakka in New York from 6pm-9pm is the much anticipated -
Dem Bonez "The Reconstruction" - vinyl custom show, and artist Jesse Y. aka
J★RYU shares with us his contribution for the show with a piece he is calling "His Name Was Richie". Sticking to mostly the organic shape of this figure, Jesse depicted the transformation that now graffiti legend Richard "Richie" Mirando aka
SEEN made through his career to where he is today! He used epoxy resin, polyester resin, foam, foamcore, metal, pennies to weigh the base of this now top heavy piece down and a NYC subway train map covered in resin that has symbolism as this not only doubles as a base for the figure, but as a base where Seen got his start! It's awesome to see this piece by Jesse as it shows his true talent as an artist... fantastic work man!

3A's sale of
Barguest is in full swing right now and you know what that means? Tasty treats for the eyes as Ash drops teasers of upcoming releases and hints at things to come. First up is a final image of the
WWRp JDF Armstrong for the J
apanese fundraiser coming up on Mar. 28th Pacific time. No final word just yet on pricing but it's charity and every last cent is going to the relief fund so I doubt too many people are worried on prices just yet.
Next up is a great little surprise pic of
1:12 scale Bambabosses. Bosses haven long been popular and usually used to mark special occasions for 3A so no word yet just how these will be dropped or when, but it's great to see some very hard to get Bosses in the mix including
Tai Pai Boss (
Red) and one of the most lusted after Bosses,
Puddingboss (
Chocolate color with yellow) also seen are
JEA Boss,
2nd Year Anniversary,
GID, and
Black Bamba. Oh and what's that in the background? Do I spy a new
hooded Boiler Zomb? No word just yet on him but I'm sure speculation is already running rampant over at the main 3A forums. And lastly we got another surprise bit of news for
SDCC fans, looks like yet another 3A drop for toy collectors, this time in the form of a
WWRp 1:12 slaughterhouse Dropcloth (
shown right). SDCC is really shaping up to be quite the showing for
3A and
Ashley Woods, I for one cant wait to see what else we see in the months to come...

Yosiell Lorenzo's exhibition titled "SEANCE" hosted by
Art Whino, will be his first solo show under his real name as he once was known as Project Detonate, and it will feature a ton of brand new pieces of work... in fact 17 pieces in total plus an instillation! As you can see from some of the selected art works above Yosiell has really "come into his own" if you will, as an artist really delving into a brand new style and color pallet... and I love what he has created. From creepy cute characters, to a fantastic custom Ouija boards, he went all out for this show... be there on Saturday, April 9th, from 8pm – Midnight to enjoy this show first hand... you won't be disappointed!

Originally created/concepted about the same time as his now released "Bent World Vandal" series,
MAD has been sitting on these designs, biding his time, and now his "Bent World Beats" are slated to see the light of day as a mini-figure series produced by Kidrobot! This is really great news as before
The Pitch Music Showcase used a few of these characters in a shirt that MAD designed for them, which by the way
sold for only $7 back in July of 2009!
Now, just recently,
MAD revealed that this series is for sure coming to fruition and to make sure we believe him, he revealed a nice packaging shot that feature 6 of the designs like a: Amplifier, Boombox, Headphones, Micrphone, Turntable, and Snare Drum. After doing a little bit more investigating I dug up some other illustrations (
diggin the drum stick) that show off what appears to be the entire crew... RAD! Also, if you notice in the starburst it states "Collect both STUDIO & TOUR versions" which could be interesting to see what he has up his sleeve in the variation on the designs as with the "Bent World Vandal" series he had clean/dirty versions! I really enjoyed the last series and I have a feeling that this one in particular will appeal to a much broader audience... I mean everyone has some type of draw to music :-)

Talk about a peculiar design on an already peculiar platform as German artist
Dust created an awesome looking custom for the upcoming
Matt "Lunartik" Jones' Custom Mini Tea Toy Show starting in Berlin at
Gallery 43°. One of the things that stands out about this piece is that it is only the cup, and not the figure popping his head and arms out... but it still does contain a figure who has met his untimely demise :-) I love the concept of this custom and the execution is stellar!

Another day, and another
Kickstarter project as Russian artist
Sergey Safonov has teamed up with friend and colleague
Jeremy Brautman to hopefully bring his "Luno the Moonrover" figure to life! Originally posted
HERE a year ago this month, we saw a rather bulbous, softball shaped character in it's pure prototype form that is based on the former Soviet Union’s Lunokhod-1 moon rover... which brings me to my next point... when/if they reach enough money to produce 50 figures,
Crazy Label will go ahead and get the ball rollin on this project!
These 3-wheeled rotocast resin figures measure 5" tall and as you can see in the above video are the perfect size! Head on over
HERE now and help this dream become a reality... there are all kinds of different pledge levels to fit any budget, and as of this post there are only 19 days to go!

We have been talking about
Buff Monster, and how he is celebrating... well, 10 years of being Buff Monster and to help ring in the continued celebration he is releasing a new silkscreen print tomorrow! Buff states that "
I have always been a fan of silkscreening; I silkscreen my own posters to put up in the street, I silkscreen certain elements in some of my paintings and I silkscreen shirts for myself." So releasing this print only seems fitting seeing as it is an iconic 10-years of art! Buff was involved throughout the entire process of this particular print, is really proud of it, and hopes that you all dig it too! It measures 18"x24", contains 5 colors, each comes signed and numbered out of 100, and will be releasing
HERE tomorrow, the 25th of March, at 10am PST for $100 each plus shipping and handling.
