new WWRp squares revealed

Photobucket

Ashley Wood dropped a new teaser pic on the 3A production blog. Shown above these little squares are WWRp (1:12 scale) no word yet on the release for these though personally I'm still hoping Ashley drops these as part of the 50 pack idea he's toyed with this last year... While some might ask who would need 50, I think many know the answer already....

3A's gearing up for SDCC

Photobucket

Ashley Wood has long been known as having one of the strongest work ethics around both as a artist and as co owner of 3A toys and so it comes as no surprise that they'd eventually set their sites on Comic Con with a massive load of toys. Well 3A fans will be pleased to hear that there will be quite a few items for sale this year. It's only the beginning of March and here's what we've heard about for the line up so far.

WWRp Dropcloth
WWRp DW and NW Heavy Bramble
AP (Action Portable) Ascended Popbot

And as if this wasnt enough last night Ash dropped some great news of a APTK (Action Portable TK) 4 pack of TK Unleashed, also slated for release at Comic Con. So far all the items announced have been 1:12 scale which is in keeping with the tradition of 3A toys at Comic Con. IDW will have the exclusive release of the DW Heavy Bramble (as shown in the above pic)there's no word just yet on how the rest will be released, though Ash has hinted that there may be some of each available on Bambaland. More info to come as we get it.

3A Wasabi Tk on sale today at 5pm PST

Wasabi the first of the Seven Bones TK set goes on sale today at 5PM pacific time on Bambaland. Seven Bones is a long sought after group of TK's that Ashley Wood created to answer the cry of fans who missed the original "classic" styled TK's. Wasabi is priced at $80 and comes with a TK sword as well as a RPG launcher. This is a 12 inch or 1:6 figure TK, not to be confused with the APTK (or 1:12 scale) figures that have recently been on the hunt for many 3A collectors. Also hinted at is a possible new Interloper, in classic 3A style Ashley commented on Interloper as not a chase variant and even hinted at it possibly being a Oyaloper (a possible Oyabun version of the interloper).

Photobucket
For those that may not know a lot of history about the TK's (Tomorrow Kings) story, regular TK's are clones and as such are autistic by nature while the Oyabuns are genetic anomalies they have all the super strength and power of a TK but they have none of the autistic limnitations. Oyabuns are also know to be able to stop time and teleport. Oyabuns have long been sought after by 3A fans with there being only 3 so far (Naga, Yama, and Showa) Oyabuns are easily identified by their Jackets and dual swords. So tonight's possible rumored drop of a Oyaloper is sending fans wild with delight. As there is no official word just what might be coming on the interloper front, there's no details to give at this time. But for all those hunting be sure to keep your eye's peeled and your F5 hand ready at 5pm pacific time at bambaland.

Custom "Peter Petroleo" Symbiote by Chauskoskis

It seems as though all the customs for the upcoming "For The Love of Vinyl" show at Dragatomi this weekend are making their appearance today and we are getting a look at the awesome "Peter Petroleo" custom Symbiote by Mexican artist Walter Jacott aka Chauskoskis. This fully transformed figure takes on a life of his own where Walter not only customized the figure, but he added an oil spill base with little bacteria's in it. I absolutely love additional sculpting on the face along with the added pack and fine details... top notch work!

The backstory of "Peter Petroleo":
"Robot #7183 was a machine from the mid 40's who has been shutdown and power less for a few decades , originally was created by Dr. Von Chaus Denburgh as a surveillance and espionage machine, but after the WWII was over and with the new technologies developed it was no longer needed. Then, after 100 years in the dark, some unusual life grew inside of it... evolving from bacteries, dust, petrol and darkness some greasy creatures came to life inside 7183. Strangely, metal and glass, plastic and gears started to work. There's no more robot #7183. Now, Peter Petrol is born..."

So posted up over on the KRonikle is a really cool video tutorial where Wheelbarrow shows how you can take a keychain grommet, unscrew it, and screw the same grommet into a Dunny... or any small collectible for that matter and turn it into a keychain! Now you may be asking... so where does the guerilla marketing come into play, well that Dunny is a paint sample of UK based artist Squink's design for the upcoming Dunny 2011 series... sneaky Kidrobot, and congrats to Squink for having his design of a previous custom titled "Ken the Mysterious Tigrrr" accepted into the illustrious lineup of Dunny production fame... and just wait till you see the others in this series, we'll just say that Squink's design is in good company :-)

Custom "Dem Bonez" by VISEone & Nasty Neil

Yesterday we posted up the video teaser for the upcoming "Dem Bonez" custom show happening at at Zakka on March 25th... and today we are getting a look at two finished pieces. First up is a really cool homage to graffiti artist SEEN by VISEone as he took the iconic Statue of Liberty figure and incorporated the skull along with some graffiti work on an all white canvas... really cool concept. Next up is a rad GrimReaper figure created by Nasty Neil, where not only did he reconstruct the figure into a sweet reaper, but he also created an awesome graveyard landscape to accompany it. As you can see two different artists equal two totally different interpretations... and I can't wait to see more!

Custom "Forest Creature" Symbiote by Jeremiah Ketner...

So what do you get when you cross a Marshmallow with a Symbiote... well in this case you get a beautifully rendered custom from Jeremiah Ketner as he combined a Marshall body with a Symbiote for his latest custom piece whic will be on display at Dragatomi this weekend for the "For The Love of Vinyl" show which opens from 7pm-11pm March 12th 2011. Its so fun to see what each individual artist does to this very specific shape and in terms of the Symbiote platform the head is a GIANT canvas and Jeremiah really capitalized on this painting his whimsical characters on and around the entire shape.
