Bwana Spoons "Total Rainboners" up for sale!

As weird as that headline is, it is totally true... Bwana Spoons has just posted up a ton of custom figures ranging from Dethra's to Snaps'... all done up in a paint scheme he is calling "Total Rainboners" which features sporadic paint and color schemes, all the while meshing together making for some seriously cool looking customs! **OPENING TONIGHT** “Blood Brothers” a 3-man show featuring Abe Lincoln Jr., Evoker & MCA

Wootini Gallery is proud to present Blood Brothers, a group show by a trifecta of talent: Abe Lincoln Jr., Evoker, and MCA. It was inevitable for these artists’ mischievous, cute, strange and wonderful work to come crashing together in one show. You can see their artwork publicly, lining the streets on stickers, in galleries around the world and in boutiques on vinyl art figures for Toy2R and Kidrobot. This show is going to feature new paintings, posters, and ofcourse Custom Toys. Abe is doing the first release of his Fugue State Records project, which is Art Objects laser etched to look like 7" singles... an AWESOME idea! Evoker is bringing to the table a ton of paintings and customs and MCA has done a mix of stencils and custom toys. The opening reception is TONIGHT Friday, March 4th, 2011 from 7-11pm, with the entirety of the show running until the 31st!

Jesse Reno: Giant Paintings and Grave-Robbed Beads

Jesse Reno has a knack for creating massive and all around incredible pieces with his unique style of layering, and these three new giants are just insane! And when I say big, I mean 12 feet wide... WOW. Check out this video documenting the very time consuming process Jesse uses to create these behemoths.

"2012 is a year away, and if the Mayans were right, then I'm going out big... I've got about 7 grave-robbed Mayan beads that I've been wearing for the past three years, so I can pay the dude who mans the boat with the beads if it comes down to it... And if not, I'll be ready for a full out art-attack! Ive been taking the last few months to just kill it.. only working on large masterworks. Pushing further, and actually taking time to do what I do best. Work big.."

Jesse was recently part of the 3-man show "Obsessive Repulsive" with Skinner and Ryan Bubnis @ Flatcolor, and has a solo show coming up in Mexico this coming December. Would you expect anything less from the artist behind over 3,000 pieces?? Check out his website to view about half of them.

Blue Dunnypillar Custom by Friff

London based artist Friff got such a good response to his recent White Rabbit piece that he decided to hit up his first dunny to match, and it' turned out spectacular! "Blue Dunnypillar" is complete with hooka pipe and mushroom box, and did I mention this is his first custom dunny? It's rare when the first ones look this good, so I'm sure there is more awesomeness to come from Friff. "Dokuro King" Painting by SKINNER = EPIC

Rich aka marswillrule over on the SkullBrain board says that he has been obsessed with the classic character "Dokuro King" for some time now, and thought of asking Skinner to do a painting based on this character, needless to say Skinner hit a home run and now this once one-off painting is being made into prints and are available for pre-order now! The prints will measure 11"x17" and are an edition of 50... Skinner says that if people want he will release an original size 17"x22" in a different colorway! So who's in?!?! It's now March, and you know what that means?!?!?! A new Sickling painting from artist Yosiell Lorenzo! Well look what we have here, another imposter... and it always seems to be the Gumpy! He continues to wish and hope that he can become a more famous and more popular toy, and this time he has set his sights very high. While visiting New York, he viewed toys and art that mimicked and mocked popular icons and thought he could do that.... he could be the original bootleg... and why not?
