Moist creates Brain sculpted rubiks cube

Photobucket
Artist Jason Freeny aka Moist has outdone himself again with the clever and stylish new design. Described as a "Rubik's Cube embedded inside brain sculpt" this is sure to be a brain twister in more ways than one. No word yet if this will be for sale or for how much but man it's one of the coolest items I've seen in a long time.

Melody Man Electronic Designer Toy by Carla Diana

This is pretty cool, and I've never really seen a designer toy like it. Meet "Melody Man" by Carla Diana.  It has a light up face powered by a hand crank (no batteries required) and also plays a 1-bit electronic melody... pretty awesome! Carla is currently raising funds for this over at kickstarter.com, so check it out and possibly become part of it's creation!

Argonaut Resins @ Toy Fair

The are some folks in our little designer toy/art community who are always on the go, creating and scheming, trying to push their own boundaries and those of the toy world and one of those folks is Eric from Argonaut Resins. Just recently Eric had a table set up at this years Toy Fair in New York and on display were some of his very popular figures along with some new concepts and sneak peeks... and thanks to the site When Giants Meet, we have these great shots of what was on display. As you can see there are some Kings of Atlantis skulls, and the classic Tuttz figures, and now a new line of possible blind-box released Mini-Tuttz's are in the works... looking really good! Also, and most notable is the addition to the line of figures is the rough WIP shots of Eric's "Pharaoh Hound"... a Tuttz companion if you will! Can't wait to see more of this!!!!

Scott Tolleson's "Cousin Argh" custom Qee

Today we are sharing with you yet another awesome custom Qee that was on display at the Toy2R NYC♥QEE Toy Fair Preview Party at Yoyamart, and my goodness does this look good! Titled "Cousin Argh", and on a classic Toyer platform, Scott Tolleson keeps on rocking the argyle sweaters, and rad color schemes with this super 'production like' custom Qee. Do yourself a favor and click on the above picture to make it bigger and look at the detail... Scott has an uncanny knack for detail, and it shows in this piece. I asked Scott how he creates these and he said "Lots of thin coats of paint to help eliminate brush strokes and tiny brushes.... I use Cel-Vinyl, always." Good to know... and keep up the stellar work man!

"Oak" the latest from Monster Workshop

Paul Vincett, owner and operator of Monster Workshop has some very exciting news to share with us today as he has just unveiled a new creature to his ever expanding line of furry monsters. This little guy's name is "Oak" and the first monster from MW with a poseable head! He measures 9"x9"x11", is 100% handmade, limited to only 6 pieces worldwide, and is available HERE right now! Give this guy a good home... he deserves it :-)

The story of "Oak":
"One brisk Sunday morning in January, a young family walked their old loyal dog Giles. Suddenly Giles pulled free and dashed off into the treesof hampstead heath. The family followed Giles' yelps until they found him, barking up a large oak tree at a terrified monster. The dad clambered up into the tree and saved the unusually antlered creature and then brought him into us, at Monster Workshop, much to the disappointment of the children and Giles."

Mari Inukai's DIY Sekaiseifukudan's and collector sets revealed

Back at the first of the month, Inner Sanctum shared with us some news HERE about artist Mari Inukai new figure series coming out titled 'Sekaiseifukudan'... well today we are happy to bring you more exclusive shots of these figures along with some really great info for all you collectors out there. First up... the 2 limited figures above are the Akamarilla diy, and the Nekomitaina diy. These diy versions are perfectly clear with the blue heart... photos really can't do them justice. Now here is the good part... Inner Sanctum is offering up a chance for 25 people to buy full complete sets of Mari's 'Sekaiseifukudan' series, it's most definitely an investment, but you may find it worth your while... read on :-)

What does this include you may be wondering... well, it includes a whopping 21 figures which entails all 7 regular figures, all 7 glow in the dark, all 7 diy versions, and an original water color from Mari... pretty amazing! Now I have heard of subscriptions for artists... in fact I have done such a thing, so think of this as a subscription to Mari's art. They are pretty pricey though and run $2500, but surprisingly spots are filling up pretty fast. It is a first come first serve basis and if you are interested you can contact Michael of Inner Sanctum up via his Facebook site HERE.

Custom "Nuggs" Qee by Ian Ziobrowski

The amazing customs keep rollin in from the very recent show that happend last Monday at the Toy2R NYC♥QEE Toy Fair Preview Party at Yoyamart... and today we are getting a closer look at Ian Ziobrowski's piece titled Nuggs "The Original hedge clippa"! This custom comes fully loaded with some brand new clippers and a satchel of some freshly picked herbs, and unfortunately for YOU, but fortunate for Ian... this guy sold the night of the show. I really dig the ongoing 'Nugglife' theme that Ian incorporates into each of his customs... it really makes for a nice progression throughout his body of work!
