Alien Argus custom from Toybot Studios
Egad!!! Kirkland Jue of Toybot Studios kills it once again with another amazing custom creation... this time he sliced up an Alien Argus for the upcoming show being held at Toy Art Gallery on February 26th, 2011! Kirkland took this piece to the next level buy cutting into it, coating it in all kinds of beautiful Monster Kolor and then making a cockpit inside where he customized a Glyos figure to pilot this beast... so creative, and well executed!

Wootini Gallery Presents “Blood Brothers” a three man show featuring Abe Lincoln Jr., Evoker & MCA
Wootini Gallery is proud to present Blood Brothers, a group show by a trifecta of talent: Abe Lincoln Jr., Evoker, and MCA. It was inevitable for these artists’ mischievous, cute, strange and wonderful work to come crashing together in one show. You can see their artwork publicly, lining the streets on stickers, in galleries around the world and in boutiques on vinyl art figures for Toy2R and Kidrobot.
All influenced by popular culture and cartoons, yet each with a distinct art style that translates fluidly from the streets to canvas to vinyl. Blood Brothers will feature prints, stickers, original paintings, and customized designer figures. The opening reception is on Friday, March 4th, 2011 from 7-11pm, with the entirety of the show running until the 31st! Oh and check out those SWEET 'LOST Posters' above, print em' out and post them around town :-)

Toy2R's clear Qee with Freeny anatomy
I know this has been in the works for a while now, and just recently on display at the NYC♥Qee Toy Fair Party at Yoyamart last Monday was the all clear, fully articulated, 7" Qee from Toy2R... and what better way to show off the functionality and aesthetics of this new figure then to have the king of fairy tale anatomy, Jason Freeny, take a crack at it. As you can see fromt the pictures above, he filled up each cavity with not only some skeletal system, but some guts as well... and at the event this was on display with the label saying "Prototype"... so does that mean this may actual be a production piece?!?! I sure hope so... but time will tell! I also can't wait to see what other customizers do with an all clear figure... SWEET!

Once again, UK based artists Squink! is set to release yet another awesome custom... this one is titled "Jack of Diamonds" features some pretty interesting sculpted elements where Squink! took the Dunny ears and blocked them off in a very stylistic manner, then he decked it out in his amazing painterly style. Jack of Diamonds backstory:
"After years of lusting after the Queen, the Jack of Diamonds lives in fear of a life of nothing but loneliness and sorrow. He watches from afar as she lives out her life with another. He dreams of what could have been."

This is his submission for the upcoming Alien Argus group show that is going down at Toy Art Gallery on February 26th, 2011! Paul dazzles us all once again with his layers upon layers of magical colors and textures... from the tip of the toes to the top of the eye-stalks there is not one piece of untouched vinyl, and amongst that flurry of color there is a certain continuity that only Paul can pull off... amazing! Be sure to come out to this art show to see this piece as well as many others in person... it will surely change the way you look at custom vinyl forever.

J★RYU's "Winter's Bloom" custom Qee
Just when you thought the Qee's were done being posted tonight, we just had to sneak one more in... and this one is by the super talented J★RYU! This piece titled "Winter's Bloom" features the gnarled wood texture that Jesse has been perfecting for the past year, as well as some new elements such the skeleton on top of the Qee, and the pastel sculpted rose... a nice delicate touch to a seemingly morose subject... in which Jesse describes in the story: "Lost in the woods, weak and alone, Valeria so very much, wanted to find home. She found a safe place, laid herself down, and deep into slumber, she left without sound...But even in death, her soul could not rest, until she inhaled, just one more sweet breath... And thru her resolve, by the light of the moon, her spirit grew forth, as this winter's bloom..." This piece was on display at the Toy2R NYC♥QEE Toy Fair Preview Party at Yoyamart, along with many other fantastic pieces as well and created quite a commotion amongst all that were on hand to view it. Great work once again Jesse!
