kaNO's custom "Letterman" Panda King

Just posted up a little while ago via kaNO's Twitter feed, was this really cool teaser of an upcoming custom "Panda King" which is the original figure designed/created by Angry Woebots! kaNO put his own spin on this custom with a painted on letterman jacket, flossing that giant "K" on his chest... looking really clean! DEBRIS JAPAN figure from Restore

Sent over once again from Luke Rook of Lulubell Toy Bodega is the follow up to the image we posted HERE a few weeks back of the amazing figure 'DEBRIS JAPAN' from Japanese company Restore. One of the cool this about this jump to vinyl for Restore is that not only is it a first in that material but as you can see they are also incorporating paper money, metal cuffs and cloth fundoshi... making this piece look extremely wicked! Look for a March/April release along with peeks at several color variations and a few surprises in the near future!

"Foomi" & "Kracka" new additions to Kidrobots Munnyworld family of DIY

Toy Fair is going on this weekend in New York, which features a who's who in the toy world, where companies can put their products on display in hopes to get noticed by other companies/stores/vendors. This year Kidrobot had a booth, their first time participating in fact, where they had their most of their normal wares... but they also had some new stuff to show off and the great folks over at Tomopop were kind enough to share some photos with us of two new characters in the every expanding Munnyworld line of figures. Called "Foomi" and "Kracka", these guys have some distinct characteristics as "Foomi" has spiked up flame hair and a small skinny tail and "Kracka" has an aligator shaped snout, with a thicker, more broad tail. There is no word on a release date or price yet, but I am sure they will be a hit among the DIY community.

**RECAP** Luke Chueh's “Contemptorary Art” @ Corey Helford 2/12/2011

Last night was the opening of Luke Chueh's second solo show at Corey Helford Gallery, and “Contemptorary Art” lived up to it's name, and the hype surrounding Lukes latest body of work. Upon entering the gallery space all were greeted with a print at the door, which later on in the night Luke would go around and happily sign. the room was full of bright vivid colors from every corner as Luke featured sixteen paintings based on his observations, experiences and studies of the art world. In the middle of the room was a very large wall barricade that had GIANT 6' outlined paintings of Luke's infamous bear figure (watch the video below to see Luke sketch a face on it) where throughout the night he invited all who attended to sketch on a 8.5"x11" sheet of paper with the same outline of the bear on it which then filled up that barricaded wall with everyone's interpretation of his figure... it was really great, and ton s of fun to see all the styles and levels of art.

Also introduced to the crowd that night was a GIANT 5' tall 1000% Possessed figure with devil... and wow did it look great... even though it was a prototype for an upcoming release of a super limited edition 15 piece fiberglass series which is going to drop through Munky King later on this year! Luke was surrounded by his family and tons of friends who came out to show their support. Notables such as Ritzy Periwinkle, Joe Ledbetter, Angry Woebots, and Sket-One were on hand to appreciate the work that Luke created. All in all the night was a huge success, and a ton of fun! “Contemptorary Art” will be on display until March 12, 2011 which I highly recommend taking a trip out to see all these works in person! Hit the jump for a full photo slide-show from the night.
