Super7 designed USB vinyl figure for Datarock
Just revealed through a SPIN exclusive interview and posted up by Brian Flynn of Super7 is a pretty rad collaboration that incorporates music into vinyl. If you follow Brian on Twitter you would know that he is a fan of Norwegian dance rock duo Datarock, so to see that they joined forces to create somewhat of a 'package' deal via a vinyl toy... it's really cool! This custom designed diamond shaped USB drive figure will come packed with over 100 songs, 1500 photos, 20 music videos, and a full concert film, plus much more. It's really a win win for both the fans of Datarock, and fans of Super7, as it will cross pollinate and introduce these art forms to those who would not have the chance to know about them otherwise. The figure itself screams Super7 and it will be interesting to see what paint scheme they decide on... price and availability are yet to be determined, but once revealed I will post it up! What are your thoughts on this crossover?

Gary Baseman x The Loyal Subjects new figure
Stumbling through the internet I ran across a great post that was up at The Hundreds and for those fans of Gary Baseman... prepare to be super stoked as The Loyal Subjects are prodoucing one crazy looking figure based on sketch of a spiky organic tree like sword wielding sketch (on the left) that Baseman did... and wow is it unique. There really are not any more details about this figure, but as you can see in the above photo of Adam from TLS, they are moving well along the way to getting this figure into your hands... more very soon!

Andrew Bell's 'Ice Edition' Glop in a Box
How fitting is this release... seeing as those poor people over on the East Coast have been freezing their tookus' off! MPH Labs is set to drop the next colorway of Andrew Bell’s "Glop in a Box" resin figure... this being the 'Ice Edition'! Unlike the last NYCC 'Biohazard' edition that came in a cardboard type box, this little guy comes in a clear resin box resembling an ice-tray of sorts and the resin 'Glop' is a nice shade of blue. This frosty fellow standing 4.5" tall will be available from myplasticheart this Thursday, January 27th 2011, at 1pm EST for $90.

Custom 'XAGU' by Frank Mysterio
One of the great things about being involved in the designer vinyl community is that you get to see customs on so many different platforms, in fact today we are showcasing a custom on a piece of vinyl that I have not seen customized before, and I am sure alot of you may not have even seen this figure at all. Mexican artist Frank Mysterio went to town on this "XAGU" which was produced by fellow countrymen Alimana Toys. Created as a commission for a friend, and needless to say, Frank covered this from head to toe, he even removed the mask and painted a face on the inside, utilizing the entire canvas, and really adding some serious character to this already bold figure. For more pics, visit Frank's Flickr site HERE.

S7 'Farenheight 451' custom by zombiemonkie
Super 7's "The One Off's" show is coming up fast and Mikie Graham aka zombiemonkie is finally ready to show off his sizzling hot submission; A custom Monster Family "Fire Robo" figure turned loving Fahrenheit 451 tribute. For those of you who haven't read Fahrenheit 451, in the book fire men burn books "for the good of humanity" helping to create a dystopian society of forced ignorance. The book is a cautionary tale of censorship that is especially relevant today. Mikie's custom "F451" as well as dozens of other incredible S7/Gargamel customs will be available Saturday January 29th at Super 7's new store at 1427 Haight Street, SF CA. If you're interested in seeing more of Mikie's work, you can always follow him on twitter @zombiemonkie.
