HERE before for a series of custom Dunny's he created, but most recently he moved onto much bigger and more challenging projects... in fact that 18" Mega Munny is his largest custom to date and he absolutely killed it! Taking cues and inspiration from McEscher, Sean attacked this giant piece of vinyl using a geometrically/mathematic approach as he hooked together faces made from the outlines of each others shapes... in fact there are over 400 total faces and every square inch, even the bottoms are covered! Sean has been customizing for over 2 years now and has really just now started to realize his full potential... shoot this piece along has a whopping 140+ hours in it... and it shows. Toy2R just announced the full details on their upcoming
Toy Fair Preview Party... and it's a big one! Ever since our last post
HERE, I have been checking back to Jeff Lamm's
Facebook page quite frequently as he updates it with all kinds of progress shots of his upcoming 2 figure release "
M5 BRAVO" & "
STEE-GAR"! In the above photo collage there is all kinds of visual candy as we are seeing wax sculpts... the stage before they are made into metal molds, a couple sketches of the figures, some vinyl test pulls, and the back of a mashed-up figure with wings... awesome! One thing that really strikes my fancy on both the figures is the amount of texture worked into the sculpts... it's going to make for some awesomely interchangeable galactic monster figures! More very soon... in fact these are going to release before you know it :-)

Utilizing all facets of the internet to get a project up and running seems to be the M.O. for designers, companies, and artists alike these days, and Brooklyn based company Aarting is reaching out to everyone in the design community to help get their 'Blankie' Series 2 produced. As it stands right now all of the designs are made and ready to go... they have a great working relationship with the factory and need just need that extra push to make this series a reality.
They are using the uber popular

The internet has been buzzing the past few weeks, especially in the vinyl community as
Buff Monster has been spearheading a
twitpic campaign showing off vinyl figures being made in the USA. This is through a new company named '
Veracious Vinyl' and as you can see from the above pictures... they know what they are doing. I first saw work from this company back at Designer-Con 2010 as Buff showed a few test pulls of a vinyl figure, where it was still pretty rough at that point.
Things have progressed at an exponential rate, and the top picture of the colored Buff Monster w/ automotive glitter is what we were treated to a few weeks back... fast forward to today and Buff showed off these amazingly crystal clear/glass like pulls... and wow do they look good, and it's tough to tell from the pictures, but these are completely seamless, bubble free... and amazing!!!! There is sooo much potential here, and I look forward to following the progress of this.

Cookies -N- Cream also is pleased to announce thier first designer figure dubbed the "SNEAKERHEAD"! This piece... a definite homage to sneaker culture, was designed by
Derin"Mekazoo"Ciler and sculpted by END of
Argonaut Resins... and as we see it now in it's rough prototype form you can see that it's going to have some serious attitude and not only appeal to sneaker heads, but designer toy fiends as well. Look for this figure in different colors as well as new design collaborations with notables in the industry. Congrats guys!

Prometheum5 has been working hard on getting his customs in order for the upcoming big release and now we have a date and time for the release. The Ceekoar drop will be at 8:30PM EST this Saturday, January 29. There will be five figures available,
the Sarvos,
three Gendrone battle units,
and the yet to be posted Phanost. The Sarvos and Gendrones will be $45 each, and the Phanost will be $50 and features a metal head from Brownnoize Productions. Each figure is painted fully with Monster Kolor and features a fine and detailed paint scheme with pearl effects and a high-gloss finish. HERE... the only thing is, the exact time is unknown but he is planning on letting the people who signed up on his mailing list know 30 mins before it goes on sale ( one reason to sign up
HERE). This little guy titled "Winter’s End" is preparing for that cold winter chill to be finally over... but there is still need for that lone scarf :-) This custom 3" Dunny was hand-painted by Squink and will retail for £45. The question is... who is going to be the lucky one that gets to give him a new home!?!?

It's been quite some time in the making now and
Reckless Toys is very proud to announce that that well be releasing the awesome skull headed mascot from
Toy Punks fame which was designed by renowned artist
Mike Giant. Slated to drop this February, the iconic figure will soon be ready for that much needed 3D makeover, and how stoked soooo many people will be.
