Josh "f+" Pearce completed a ton of customs for 2010 and made many collectors super happy but one thing he wanted to switch up for 2011 is to give more people an opportunity to own some of his sick designs so he went forward with an idea and the "Knight Shades" were born. The Story of the Knight Shades: "In all the Majik disciplines, there is darkness, An evil siren’s call that beckons it’s wielder to succumb to it’s black lust. The darkness, once invited, blinds and consumes them in it’s terror. The Knight Shades are born from the heart of pure majik darkness; and so long as they roam this land, no kingdom should live without fear."
Artist JCRivera really is coming into his own when it comes to custom figures, and his latest piece titled "Orsson & Rovey" really showcases his artist talents. JC used David Choe's Munko figure for the "Rovey" figure and he hand sculpted "Orsson" the bear to fit perfectly. These two are nomads traveling around the world... I wonder if there are others out there like them... would be cool to see a series of them, huh?!? Hey kids... don't get those fingers too close as them there turtles are liable to snap off yer finger, well live ones will, not these cute little resin creations from Bwana Spoons. "Snaps" the resin snapping turtle is Bwanas latest creation which he is going to release to his SARS members tomorrow, with maybe a public release in the future. This little guy is all painted up, standing tall and proud, but rumor has it he has a snake arm so look out!
Megan aka MeSmithy recently finished up an unbelievable commission for one lucky collector where she took a Munny and transformed it into a Warrior Armadillo. Megan does such a stellar job with her stitching techniques, and the choice of fabrics in this customs case really go super well together. She says that "I was stoked to do an armadillo since they are such interesting animals." and I would have to agree with her on that one! Megan really has a style of her own, and with each custom they seem to be getting that much tighter and well put together... amazing work Megan and keep em' coming!
Well isn't this lovable rhino a world traveler... as he was first spotted in Los Angeles for the TAG show, then in Germany at ArtyFarty, and now he is on his way to Holland for the latest Jouwe exhibition! This show starts on January 15th, and will run until February 14th and is being hosted by Outland Records. The show will include customs from Reactor88, Rsin, Slurg, Viseone, MintyFresh, Vang, 64Colors, DrilOne, {TMS}, Dust, Chauskoskis, Jerome Outland, CikCuk, DasMo, Willow, TellThem, Lazy65, and The Yellow Dino. This just in... Doktor A is a robot and has a laboratory where he creates customs for 24hous a day... well not really, but he is a "machine" in every sense of the word. I know this is quite a ways out... seeing as the launch of the show is on Friday, April 1st, 2011, but we can at least wet your whistle with the teaser above for Doktor A's first ever solo show in the UK titled "Mr. Whistlecraft’s Tarnished Day Dreams". The Art Hustle is just closing things down on their very successful Series 1 of the art inspired trading card series... gearing up for Series 2 now, and just this past weekend they had the drawing for the winner of The Art Hustle Series 1 Guess the Hand contest... which is alot of fun to watch!
