Sket-One Bacon MAD*l West Coast release went down last Friday, August 20th at
Crewest Gallery in LA. The crowd came out early to line up to assure their exclusive event only GID purple variant of this
Wizard Sleeve Toys exclusive product. Come to find out, the GID version is now going into "Chase Mode" as Sket says, so if you want one, you have to try your luck at ordering one from
WST and hope that the GID is the one you get, but it's not guaranteed!
The event was a ton of fun, and tons of Sket's friends and fans came out to show their support.
Kano, Ritzy Periwinkle, Shane Jessup, George & Ayleen Gaspar all came out to chill and chop it up with everyone, and the fans brought out tons of old/rare vinyl from Sket's past for him to sign... which was awesome to see. Authorized bootlegger,
Dodgrr, also mad the trip and he traveled with resin and a mold to do casting demonstrations (

All of his was cramped into a one night event for the fantastic looking Bacon MAD*l which is extremely clean and I would recommend picking one up for yourself for only $45. Custom Toy Union goes from one amazing thing to another as they are proud to announce their latest HUGE contest that they are calling the "
Battle Bracket" contest. This will be an open theme contest using 3" Dunnys as the platform, it will be in a bracket format with entries randomly matched up in head to head battles, and CTU members will vote on the separate bracket battles until only one customizer remains. Each battle will have a 24 hour voting window, at the end of that time the winners will move on through the bracket...

ThunderPanda shares with us today a whole slew of figures for his upcoming show titled
"Things aren't getting any prettier in the neighborhood" which he says is inhabited by many-many nice creatures (and not so nice) creatures. This series will include some of his classic characters like "Lemi", "TV Nino" etc... but as you can tell the series also includes a ton of customs as well as prints of the drawings that will be exhibited and printed on canvas 840 x 110 cm. These will then be turned into exclusive giclee prints in small run which will be published by
Plastic Culture.
Eric says that he got this idea for the show while he was customizing an uglydoll, and it was getting uglier :-) then he spun the idea and started thinking about the state of his own city and country and government that aren't improving, thus getting uglier little by little. Eric will not only have the custom vinyl on hand, but also prints, paper toys, plush and t-shirts! This exhibition is fully supported by
Plastic Culture as a start of long term collaboration, and will take place at their store on Level One, Grand Indonesia, Jakarta on September 3rd, 2010.

Medicom are slated to release the much anticipated vinyl figure set of Disney's Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket done up KAWS style! This is going to be run in a lottery style fashion... beginning at 9:00 the morning on August 28th, tickets will be handed out at the
OriginalFake Tokyo store, and the lucky ones picked will be able to purchase this figure for around $200! There is no word on where or if these will be state side, but I am sure some will make it to select retailers!

Argonaut Resins is now producing t-shirts as collabos with selected artists and the first one is with Rich Page who also won the "Win a free OG Tuttz" art contest. He was chosen by Jaime who ran the contest over at her
KollectibleKulture site. A lot of artists slept on the contest and the hidden jem was that Eric from Argo was going to pick one of the designs to turn into a limited Tuttz Tee! Eric states that "
Rich's design knocked me out and he agreed to do the Tuttz Ankh logo in the same style for the back of the Tee to cap off a really nice looking shirt overall."

Tessetoys keeps the goods coming Wednesday, August 25th as they are set to drop two more figures titled "
The Unlimited Twins & Pressbots"! These packages are limited to one of each. Each packages comes with one Unlimited Twin, one Pressbot, a Pressbot press pass, and a bunch of cut vinyl stickers with application tape pre applied so you can stick them wherever you like :) The Unlimited Twins and Pressbots are cast in resin and finished off with lots of primer, hand painted with acrylics, a bit of spray paint and a few coats of clear lacquer. The Twins stand at about 4" tall and the Pressbots at about 2" tall. They will be available on the
Tesseshop at 7pm BST on the 25th of August for £18 each.

Coming in a sparkley new clear purple glitter paint job is the classic S7 Mascot the "Mummy Boy" and the first painted release of Le Merde's Monster Family figure "Le Turd" gets painted in a rad pinkish/purple color scheme! NSTNATE just sent over some new pictures of an extremely well done custom 8" Dunny that we just had to share with everyone. This piece titled "Plastic Surgery" Dunny was completed as a form of pointillism where Nate created this design by using over 10,000 individual dots, and if you look close enough you will see them all. He also gave the design some pop by sculpting on the bandages. This piece took some serious patience, and I feel paid off in the end, as this is one smoking hot piece!
