Smash Tokyo Toys SEISMIC ACE is coming!

Here's the final factory shots with the toy in package before it gets shipped off to the Distributor on Monday who has been announced as Apex Trading Company. We can expect to see ACE hitting shelves all over America by July unless there are unforseen complications. ACE will be strictly limited so make sure you get your orders in. This DIY version of SEISMIC ACE by Smash Tokyo Toys' Matt MATTYBOOMBATTY Walls and Canadian artist Kris Smith (or D.I. for DO IT) will never be repeated with two artists versions being released next year being fully printed and colored. Whispers along the grape vine also hint at a super secret, strictly limited collaboration with a giant artist coming later this year but details are being kept top secret. This is the premiere release from Smash Tokyo Toys, and their Seismic Ace is set to retail for around $49.95. These are set to hit state wide on June 21, and will be limited to 450 pieces worldwide, more news and updates as they roll in!

"tyrannoCECILrex" proto from Nathan Hamill

Nathan Hamill has been pretty quite int the way of toys since his "Boris the Raccoon" figure was released last year, and today we are getting the first look at his upcoming figure titled "tyrannoCECILrex". This figure is based off his 2D artwork and instead of going the vinyl route with this one, he has decided to produce them in a small resin run and the first batch will be available at SDCC 2010. These will measure 4" and each will include a limited ed. print of the character. Price and run number have not been released yet, but stay tuned for more info! I totally love the tiny little arms, awesome!

"Billy and The Atomic Esophagus" from Plaseebo

Bob Conge of Plaseebo has been on a custom rampage as of late, but he still finds time to make specific ones for special people... this being the case and the story behind "Billy and The Atomic Esophagus" his latest custom mashup created for his friend who was battling and finally beat esophageal cancer! This custom just like all the Plaseebo ones has very many similarities in it including the amazing LED action (bottom left picture). I love the creepy Beethoven/Mozart head with the wee little hands sticking out the side of some machine with intestines coming out... Grand stuff Bob!

BACKSTORY on "Billy and The Atomic Esophagus":

"This is a custom piece I made for a friend of many years to commemorate his battle and miraculous recovery from esophageal cancer. It is, I think, a trophy of sorts. Billy fought this war courageously for the better part of the past year and returned from deaths door, cancer free, a few weeks ago. We had lunch and I presented him with this small token of my gratitude for our continuing friendship. He replied with a smile."

NERVISWR3K and Nico Deacosta's Dunny's for the "CTU Blind Box Series One"

Next up in our continued coverage of of the amazing Dunny designs for Custom Toy Union's Blind Box Series One is a creepy little creature from Arizona based artist NERVISWR3K... and in true fashion this custom is going to have all the characteristics that we have come to expect from him as an artist, you know the green skin, the mangled teeth and gums, and ominous eyes... alll that rad stuff. The quality on these are going to be top notch, I know because I own one of his customs... hopefully YOU will be the lucky one and pull this when the time comes!

The second custom Dunny for today comes from Philippines based artist Nico Deacosta as he shows us the design for his "Garage Monkey" character. As per the illustration above we can tell that this figure is going to be nice and rusted up with some added features including a positive and negative fuse box in each on the Dunny's ears... which makes me wonder will this be functional... I guess time will tell, and soon enough we are going to get peeks into the exact ratios, as well as box/package designs so stay tuned!
