Star Fleet IWG - Captain "Titus" Kirk revealed!
How awesome is this... and after seeing the initial teasers of this figure months ago, the real deal turned out great! Coming to us live at SDCC 2010 in July will be Star Fleet IWG, and the first figure in this set that has been revealed is the classic Captain "Titus" Kirk... decked out with a phaser, communicating device, and a nice collection satchel, not to be overlooked are the rad duds he is sporting... and spotted near his feet in the bottom picture is a light gray Tribble (ask Leecifer about his run in with one of these) oh and am I the only one to notice he has no pants, AWESOME :-) Stay tuned for more reveals soon.

" iZombie" by R-evoluti @TeeFury
Zombies and iPods... there may be a hidden statement in this one, I will leave that up for you to decide! TeeFury is an awesome website that sells T-shirts for $9 a pop...the only catch is that it is only on sale for 24hours and then the next T-shirt is posted up! I have seen awesome shirts by some amazing artists on here and the total purchase price is $11. So that is $9 for the Tee and $2 for the shipping...that is an awesome deal that can't be beat! I will try and post the shirts up daily, or you can go visit the site yourself!
Money does go back to the artist and after today, this t-shirt will be Gone FOREVER! Today artist earns $1 for every tee sold. So make sure you get over there if yer diggin the design!

Vannen Art Watches just announced that they are having a HUGE Memorial Day Weekend Sale where they are offering 30% off all their watches... the reason, because they are clearing out all their old inventory for the upcoming release of Brian Ewing's watch (6.4.10) and the much anticipated Series 2 (6.11.10)! So head on over to their shop HERE and pick up these fantastic watches... which might also qualify you for a few surprises thrown in every order like signed packaging, toys, prints, stickers and more. What are you waiting for? Get your shop on.
Speaking of Brian Ewing - here's a peak at his watch we so lovingly named The Black Curse. The one pictured above is the Atticus version sold exclusively at 1Louder on Melrose in Los Angeles. The Black Curse is limited to 100 pieces worldwide and is a cross-over watch available only at VannenWatches.com and 1Louder. The Black Curse is split into two sets of 50 with each version being slightly different than the other. Each box is also signed and number by Brian.
Vannen Series 2 is just upon us, in fact June 11th, and is going to feature art on watches from Bigfoot, Blaine Fontana, Thomas Han and Travis Lampe. All of these designs promise to be fantastic and will be revealed in the very near future... and Vannen also mentions that as a way to celebrate their release they have a few promotions lined up like in-store signings, autographed packaging, free giclees and more.

**RECAP** GUNNZO Open House D.I.Y. + Trading Party 5/29/2010
One of the really great things about having a local vinyl scene are the people that come out to support it, and did they ever for Gunnzo's open house in San Diego. It was a beautiful day, the temp was about 78 with a light breeze and the view from the back porch of the quaint little vinyl shop in Old Town, San Diego was to die for! The event kicked off at 2:30 and to my surprise upon arrival the tables were already full of eager customizers getting down and dirty on their creations hoping that their piece would be worthy to catch the grand prize at the end of the night. Chika (Owner of Gunnzo) provided an amazing spread of food, not to mention a fantastic family friendly atmosphere where the majority of the crowd stuck around for 5.5 hours... Hit the jump for more coverage of this event!
Tons of folks were working on Munny's, some Dunny's a Qee, and even a Teddy Troop... and in the end a 3" Munny customized by a newcomer took home the $100 gift certificate prize. Not to be out done were all the customs that people brought to put on display for the second contest which also included primarily all Kidrobot DIY figures but i the end "Uncle" Sam took the cake with his amazing gravity defying custom Hazel! After all the craziness of the voting went down we had a ton of time to kill, so that is when the trading began, so many collectors brought out droves of vinyl, I mean tubs full, it was insane... and some trades and deals went down, so all in all it was a great time.
It was really great to see all the guest judges come out. First one who showed up was artist/illustrator and toy designer kaNO who also brought his lovely wife and adorable daughter down for the event, where he also hung around and sketched it up in some black books and on some blanks. Next up was now local San Diegan and killer kaiju creator, artist extraordinaire Paul Kaiju, who brought a grip of his custom figures as well as some original sculpts!
Last but not least was up-n-comer artist/toy designer Jose Reynoso who revealed his RAD new "Gumpy" prototype to the crowd, which I might ad had a great reception, and one lucky raffle winner walked away with a one-off prototype... LUCKY! Jose also customized a whole set of mini-munny's each representing some of the peeps there... he even made one of me, sweet!! Actually I am the last but not least in the judges category, but that's just boring... so I'll leave it at that :-) It was such an honor to be one of the judges and I can probably speak for the others as well in this manner! Thanks so much to all of those who came out, and I look forward to the next event... maybe next month *wink, wink*!
