Max Toy Company "Dragigus" test shots...
Mark Nagata of Max Toy Company just dropped a Twitter bomb (copyright pending) of a new figure that is in the works, this is "Dragigus" the brother of famed creature "Drazoran". Above is a picture of one of the first few vinyl pours called the "test shot", this is sent over for approval. I had sent a message to Mark saying "WOW, makes me want to eat chocolate :-)" and he so kindly replied "Ya that would be Rad... Kaiju Chocolate! Actually it is called Marusan Brown... after the 60s toy company, Marusan ;-)" So not only do you get a nice picture, but you also get a lil knowledge reading these toy blogs , hehehe! Oh, and does the above statement from Mark mean we might see kaiju chocolate, a boy can only dream.

8" Da Space Warrior Dunny from Tim Tsui
We posted up a teaser picture HERE of this figure about a month ago and now the full reveal of Hong Kong-based artist Tim Tsui's Da Space Warrior 8" Dunny is upon us! This is going to drop on June 3rd retailing for $75 (£65 UK; 75€ Europe) and limited to 888 pieces worldwide... fyi 8 is a lucky number in Asian cultures... only reason I know this is because I work at a casino :-) This figure is going to come with a tasty banana accessory and a dazzling gemstone eye. I still am not really feeling this figure, but I am sure this will have no issues selling!

Little Axe "Dark Hood" edition by Erick Scarecrow
Last Saturday Eric Scarecrow dropped a teaser of a new figure HERE where he stated "Don't you just love fairy tales?"... speculation set in, and rumors started flying, and now all of those can be put to rest because the full reveal of Erick's new figure is upon us. Introducing "Little Axe" a new resin figure that stands at 6" tall and is completely handpainted. These are set to drop HERE on Friday May 28th, 2010 at 11am PST for $110 a pop! The above figure known as "The Dark Hood" colorway is an ESC exclusive and limited to 30pcs worldwide and will come signed, numbered, packaged by artist, and will include the removable black axe accessory... rad!! I am loving this new character, that axe is just awesome, and can't wait to see the other colorways that Erick comes up with!
The story of Little Axe:
"Once upon a time, therewas a badass little girl that lived in a city near a forest. She was in need of gloves because her little hands were cold. She entered the forest and encountered a loud mouth wolf that boasted about how his claws could shred little girls like herself into pieces. The little girl wasn't threatened but intrigued by the wolf's paws. Especially since they would match her boots. They exchanged a few looks and moments later the little girl came out of the forest with a new glove. The wolf managed to escape and decided it was best not to mess around with little girls."

Lunabee's Dunny for the "CTU Blind Box Series One"
Well look what just appeared in my inbox... another sneak peek at a Dunny design for Custom Toy Union's Blind Box Series One, this time coming from Sarah Miskelly aka Lunabee! I am always very fond of her designs as I love monsters and she creates some fantastic ones! Sarah states that "I always enjoy researching names and stories for my customs and this case was no exception. I love greek mythology and often delve into the stories behind the gods and godesses and this time I chose to base it on Alpheus who was a river god and a passionate hunter." So based from the story Sarah then proceeded to design this piece with murky, swampy colors keeping the whole fish/tribal look intact... similar in style to most her other pieces! She goes on to say that "I wanted him to look a little bit battered with his half closed weeping eye but still fierce and a monster to be respected amongst his clan!" One thing to note about her art is that she bases her vector design on the final painted piece so above is a great representation of what the final piece will look like... so who else in on board, this series is going to be insane!

Titled "Kechoudan" this formatable ninja is ready for battle, equipped with his katana, and throwing knives not to mention an awesome paint scheme, with amazing attention to detail I am super impressed with the way this turned out, then again looking at all his other work, this type of quality is par for the course... amazing design from an amazing designer!

Custom 10" Teddy Troop "Sharptrooper" by bnko
French artist bnko just passed along some amazing pictures of a recent custom 10" Teddy Troop he just created. This piece is titled "Sharptrooper" and is a fantastic dystopic futuristic creation and was assembled using nothing but friction fit... so no screws or glue were involved. It's really cool to see the detail and involvement in this piece, the tubing, the great satchel backpack, and dispensary gun... I guess I am just a sucker for post apocalyptic themed creations!

Progress shots of Smash Tokyo Toys "Seismic Ace"
Just in, some more shots of Smash Tokyo Toys' SEISMIC ACE at the factory. According to designer Mattyboombatty, these are unpainted but are at the final stage with the magnets inserted in the arms ready to be sprayed silver. There are 500 in the baskets but only 450 released to the public. Some of the remaining 50 will be used for a "very special and exciting collaboration that will be announced at a later date."... hmmmmm what could this be?
It has also been revealed that the original release date of September has been pushed forward and we may see these on shelves as early as late June-early July. The SEISMIC ACE template contest is still open but will now close 7/1/10 so get those templates in for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
