Patricio Oliver's "Almond & Salamandra" vinyl figure prototype's get some paint...

It's been a while since we have seen or heard any word from Patricio Oliver... now he just released some great new pictures of his Almond & Salamandra vinyl figure prototype with a shiny new paint job... and wow do they look clean! PO says "Almond still needs some tiny little details to correct but in a few weeks or days I will give all details related to preorders." These two figures compliment each other very well, and I am in love with those flames shootin out of Salamandra's northern and southern regions :-) Standing at 5" and 3.2" tall respectively, these figures are almost ready for release and PO states that "These two are going to be very limited in quantity!"... how limited, well... I think you may not want to sit around to find out, that's how limited... and to be on of the first to know about their release, sign up for The Tenebrae Newsletter via info@thetenebrae.com.

*RECAP* Toyqube's "Mr.Power Custom Show"

Another show opening came and went... and another show I was unable to attend that I REALLY wanted to, but thanks to OsirisOrion for the great video, and AW177 for the photos we are able to check out the action that went down at ToyQube's "Power Arts for Power Ups: Mr. Power Custom Show". This show happened on Friday, May 21st 2010 from 6pm-9pm, and included some AMAZING work from some super talented artists including: 64colors, ahtamTam, Alien, Andrew Bell, Andy Woo, Aw177, Brent Nolasco, Cameron Tiede, Dan, David Palieri, Drilone, dubdubbeat, Filter017, Graphicairlines, HaliKen, Ian Ziobrowski, Jester, Jon Paul Kaiser, kaNO, Keithing, Leecifer, Motorbot, Mr. Munk, Nemo, Nakanari, OsirisOrion, Patrick Chow, Perry Osman, Pon, Phalanx Studio, Phetus, Phu!, Platinum Toys, Remind Studio, Rohby, Ryan Snook, Squink!, TobyHK, Trex, Troy Stith, Zack, Zam, and Zono.

A couple stand out pieces that caught my eye which I had not seen previews for were Rohby's FANTASTIC "Mechanical Powers"(left) custom... that thing is nuts, and honestly what more can you expect from him, every custom he does is top notch, and almost looks like a production piece, and how can you go wrong with Nemo's rad "Pray to ManTuss"(right) custom... that thing is sick, and what you can't see from the picture is that thing lights up like a Christmas tree, check it out in the video! This show looked amazing and it will be up until June 1st, so head out and see them all in person. Hit the jump for more photos!

*Teaser* A new release from Eric Scarecrow

Eric Scarecrow posted up a teaser on his site stating "Don't you just love fairy tales?"... why yes, yes I do... but what could these dual axes be for... or should I say which one of his characters, my guess would be a new version of his "Wood Hermit" figure, maybe a female version... no word on what exactly Eric has up his sleeve... who knows, more info to drop next week, so keep yer eyes peeled!

"Hib Iskus" custom Yoka by Okedoki

Tam aka Okedoki always drops bombs in my e-mail and just recently she sent over some AMAZING picture of her custom Yoka titled "Hib Iskus" for the Traveling Yoka Show at Genuine Artikle in NYC on June 5, 2010. Tam says that "I wanted to show the affects of climate change to the Polar Bear, hence the hibiscus flowers wrapped around him. I also wanted to give it a less toy feel, and more sculptural." She pulled this off amazingly well... using epoxy, vinyl, and resin... I love the detailed line work, this is a 10" figure, and there are only a handful of artists that were picked to do the larger version, so it HUGE... and the base this figure is on looks great as well! Keep up the solid work Tam!
