Zombie Sanctuary series from Anthony DeVito

Anthony DeVito aka diakka00 has been following the vinyl toy scene for some time now and he recently just released a fantastic custom series of zombie animal custom dunny's including cats, elephants, beavers, frogs, bunnies, pigs... need I say more, ok I will :-) This was his first time doing custom vinyl, and what a great job he did. Anthony says that "I started out just doing the blue rabbit with his brains exposed. I got a hugely positive response on the KR message boards. People wanted more so I decided to do a blindbox series. I was going to only do a few and see how they sold but before I even had 3 finished, I had 10 people signed up. I wanted to keep it pretty limited so I just stuck with the 10." So obviously he did something right with these seeing as they are all hand painted using only brushes and acrylics and some are modified with sculpey.

Unfortunately, all that you see have found a home already, but the good news is Anthony is working really hard to continue to get his name out there, not to mention he is always open for commissions, so if you dig what you see you can contact him at adeVito00@gmail.com or shoot him a message on the KR boards (diakka00) or on his deviantart site HERE!

Celsius "Overheat" teasers from Kuso Vinyl

Kuso Vinyl has been working very diligently on many projects at once, and they are continuing to impress me with the amount of quality work that they keep on producing. Posted up on their site are new images for their upcoming Celsius "Overheat", designed by Rotobox Vinyl, where the design of the figure actually calls for roughing up the platform as Celsius lost one of his arms in fighting with his enemy. As you can see from the images, they actually removed the left arm at one articulation point and added bare stripped wires coming out... what a great concept, not to mention the banged up paint scheme. Look for these to drop very soon!

Mini "Skelve" from Brandt Peters & Kathie Olivas

Just teased about via Circus Posterus' Twitter account were these two pictures of what appears to be a Mini Skelve! Now, nothing other than the pictures have been released so not sure if this is a proto on it's way to becoming a vinyl figure or if they are going to stick with resin... but I am sure all will be revealed shortly!

Zam's custom Tattooed "Marked Munny" #2

Speaking of Tattoos... as promised from yesterday, here’s Zam’s Marked Munny #2! Representing Cholo style tattoos and originating from the barrios of East L.A., Chicano gangster tattoos typically involve religious imagery, calligraphy, cars, images of loved ones and can be reflective of prison life. The clown face symbolizes laughing at one’s enemies. Life and death, good times and hard times, laughter and tears sum up the imagery behind the Cholo style tattoo. In recent years, this style has become well sought after by celebrities, by artists like Mr. Cartoon and Fonzy.

"Metamorphin" blind box series from Daniel Goffin

Daniel Goffin has been featured on our site before, with his awesome art and custom resin creations, but none of those previous works measure up to the size and creativeness to his latest project he is calling "Metamorphin"! This is a new series of toys, or rather miniature sculptures, that he has been working on that are cast in isomalt a sugar substitute frequently found in pharmaceutic and diet products. The mold is also made from food safe silicone and the capsules are made from gelatine... CRAZY!!! These are little characters that he has created in pill size, so if you wanted to eat them, you could, but who would want to do that, these are sweet!

"Metamorphin" will come in a handmade blister capsule packaging, as seen above, and a handmade box. This will contain 10 different sculptures, and 2 will be a little less common and then 1 will be a chase figure. Daniel states that "I will take care not to have a set of only one sculpture but I can not promise that there won't be doubles. No single purchase will be possible." These are set to drop in a series of 20 packs, and will be released at Daniel's upcoming show at LA's Toy Art Gallery.

Background story:
"After body modification nano-technology had become not only common but also fashionable one company quickly seized the opportunity to offer the ability to buy cheap, timed capsules with the ability to enhance the body and mind in almost every way imaginable. Metamorphin advertise themselves with low cost and highly satisfied customers while at the same there is very little known about longterm and side effects..."

Brian Colin's Muscamoot "Bottom Feeder" custom

Brian Colin just recently completed a fantastic custom on Chris Ryniak's Big Muscamoot platform. This figure titled "Bottom Feeder" is just that he lowest of the low feeding on the droppings on the bottom of sludgy waters. Brian did a really great job of capturing the murkiness of this figure with his toned down color pallet yet accented off very nicely with the golden/mustard highlights of acrylic with both matte and glossy varnish applied. You can pick this up in his store HERE for only $100, what a steal! Great stuff Brian!

The backstory on the "Bottom Feeder":
"Not too long ago in the southern region of our great nation certain bottom-feeding, water-dwelling creatures were only eaten by the poor and the enslaved. The upper and even middle class would turn their nose in disgust at the idea if dining on a fish that scavenged for food. Stories were told to the young exaggerating how nasty these beasts truly were.... slowly through time myths became a reality. Now more than just a fish, they have taken on attributes of much of their lore including vicious fangs and a bi-pedial stance. In small ponds and swamps throughout Georgia, these "Bottom Feeders" have been seen lurking both in and out of the water."
